Hey this is one of those introduction sections most forums seem to be getting nowadays. When you are new to the site please say "hi" here as opposed to having a new thread started every time some body joins.
-
Hey I'm JC
I spose I am new to this site, but have been playing airsoft for Quite a few years now. Currently I am using a G&G Gr-25 sniper (semi auto) as my weapon of choice (thanks chibt :D )
Feel free to add me on msn if you want to have a chat, or talk to me via pm.

I'm scott, new to airsoft. I also play hockey as a goalkeeper, and hoping that airsoft actually is played tactically, rather than the stuff that goes on in paintball. But hoping to make a good time of this - if I can join, that is.
-
Some guys love to try and do the tatical stuff whilst others prefer the more casual approach. We generally try and cater to both. If you are over 18 or 16 with A-cat come along to a game and play otherwise unfortunatly you will only be able to spectate.
-
Don't you worry, I am 18. Only problem is that I work on saturday.. hope you do some games on sundays

tactical?
let me just say that at a game I have been to, I was asked to go out early.. arrived early, and sat, hunted, stalked, watched for over 2 hours, before letting a shot off. :)
Cover fire, manuever, calling, yelling, stalking, taunting.
It is all there. :)
Including standard hunt the gimp and CTF. :P

Howdy lads :D
I been playing airsoft for about 6 months now and am loving the sport, even though i dont get to do as much as I would like too :(

Hello, I'm SierraSix on other sites. I'm in Auckland now and am planning to start a new team doing 14int/surveillence type games (pistols). Am here to coordinate with the JAFAs ( :P ) and probably come out and say hi at some stage.
-
Hey all
Just got home from xLAN, completely utterly shattered after doing the security runs, but i figured i'd post this before i completely forget.
Was real great meeting the guys there at xlan, was a real blast, i didnt get much time to run computer games, but a chat to Mark or Spoon was always great way to make the boring late-night passes go a little bit quicker.
Working as a Machinist/Toolmaker in a company that does some gunsmithing jobs i've always had a love for firearms of all kinds, firing alot of the real-life counterparts of the airsoft guns you use (M4A1's are teh devilzor - They jam waaayyyy too much) Was looking into getting into RAM, but the price of the guns put me off :(
-
Greetings Bane, Mark aka Bartonator. Cool meeting you at the show. Now you just have to come to a game :P
-

Greetings New Zealand!
I am Tank... just Tank. I have been softing for about 7 years now and am currently the resident gunner for Team FOD (don't ask me what it stands for as we have never figured it out) who are based outside Reading, England. This year I was lucky enough to win the heart of one of your citizens and she is the reason I am looking to move over to New Zealand for extended periods of time for the next few years.
I am currently a rifleman in the TA (a contract I am having trouble juggling now that I am looking to spend so much time abroad.... well spend time abroad and not hurt people for a living. ^_- I am also a 2D VFX artist and lucky for me you lot have plenty of companies I should be applying to very soon. However, this is all depends on whether I can get some slack from the TA.
Naturally I need my fix so, I registered here to get involved a little and get to know a few of you before I move into Auckland and begin looking for sites to play at. I usually play mil sim events as I feel I have matured beyond the need to just play mindless games but need more thrill in tension and thinking about how and where to fight. It certainly was a shock to know that you are forbidden to use automatic weapons, particularly for me as I expect to distribute a full box mag in every 5-10 minute firefight. I think I could get used to it knowing that it is down to well placed shots and not having to carry 20KG of kit as well as lug an overweight minimi around all day.
I will shut up now and get back to work.

Cool, nice to have you on the forums. This club is realitivly new and small and as yet we havent had any set teams develop though guys are starting to cluster. We dont have so much a site based system but rather club where our club organises different game approximatly every 2 weeks, we have enourmous greenrole fields avaliable to abandoned meat works. We are trying to get a milsim game going every month so if you come and join your experience will be in valuable.
Good luck with the move.
-
Welcome Tank looking forward to meeting you.
Would love to discuss your vfx stuff, similar road i am on at present. An yeah, quite a few companies about.
Best of luck with the shift and make sure if you try and bring some airsoft rifles into nz, they are converted to semi before bringing through customs... even then they'll probably give you a hard time, but stick to your guns and get everything in writing if they do decide to give you grief and your rifle is nz legal. Even better try and get a permit by contacting a local (nz) arms officer.
Hope some of that helps.
-
Hiya people
I'm down the road from Tank, in Portsmouth UK. I run UCAP airsoft www.ucap.co.uk.
I'm another Brit who wants out of the UK (useless kingdom) and within the next few years will be moving over.
I'm in NZ in Feb for 6 weeks and it would be great to have a game. Ive been on the Canterbury forums too, 2 games in 6 weeks seems ok lol!
If any of you guys would like a game at ucap on the house if you are in the UK, get in touch!
Andy
-
Thank you all for your warm response. I think it will be interesting and fun to be able to put my input into future events and games in Auckland so I welcome your offer to help out and get involved.
I imagine I will be buying a weapon to keep in New Zealand rather than shipping one of my existing ones. I can then try to squeeze in my DPM and MC loadouts. I imagine I will get lots and lots of grief from customs as they did everything but a cavity search the last time I visited.
What field are you in Musick?
Andy, does that invite extend to me too? :D I am a life time member of Eversley so I am getting used to not having to pay for walk-ons. :) The site looks like it is really close to CSU and most interesting. I am looking forward to an urban / tunnel site that is good as Epsom was a real disappointment.
-Tank
-
Speak to Weapon X, he has had several invites!
UCAP is 6 times bigger than Epsom and you cant hold the corners as we generally don't use them!
We also have the rest of the fort inc the same bit as CS use but the same again too! We don't really use it though!
Get your arse down for a game on me!
Andy
-
Welcome to the both of you from the local engineer :P i'm relatively new but i work as an engineer in a workshop that dabbles more often than not in firearms, i'm already looking at/drawing up custom models for mecboxes to be made here in NZ (So much cheaper than importing atm GODDAMN CUSTOMS)
Hope to see you (And shoot yez) on the field soon :D
-
Geeze UCAP looks awesome. I would love to be able to play in a place like that!!!!!!!
-
Welcome Andy, looks like a nice place to play.
Tank: Currently studying 3d (modeling and animation) vfx. I get a little freelance work, but hoping to get abit more as I bolster my portfolio, that said my study projects take president at this time. Would love to see some of your stuff, just fire me a pm mate.
-
I'd swap it all day long to live in NZ!
-
Perhaps put it in a suit case and bring it over with you. Ask westie he may have a TARDIS it will fit in.
:D
-

Hi Everybody!
I'm Jansen, a lowly IT code monkey deep in the trenches of corporate NZ. Just joined your forum to find out a bit more about airsoft.
Got a few quick questions (gimme a head shot if it's off topic )
Will I get grief from custom if I get a full auto from overseas but have it converted to semi auto before shipping over?
Will custom gimme grief anyway if I get a semi?
Or should I be a brave crazy fool and go for single shot only?
Thinking of getting a HFC P226 from RedWolf. Any thoughts or advise?
Looking forward to your reply and my first game :D
Cheers!

Greetings Jansen,
>Will I get grief from custom if I get a full auto from overseas but have it >converted to semi auto before shipping over?
It would be nice, however recently a number of factory semied guns have been ceased by NZ customs. Highly recommend not trying to import one.
Best way to find out more is come along to a game, meet the crew and join a game. We have access to some rental guns so don't feel like you have to have an airsoft gun before you start. In actual fact, at a game you will get a good idea of what we use and you can get good advice on what works well etc....
BTW have a Tokyo Mauri P226, which is very nice. Have not seen the HFC version, but if anything like the Mauri, it too will be nice.
Cheers

Thanks Bart, I appreciate the info and invite. :)

Hey guys. I played the other day, had the G3 that kept jamming :P
Welcome..... unfortunate about the jamming, although I think the gun was a G36 :)
-
Yea it was, force of habit in calling it a G3 I guess.
Easier than just saying "the e" and having everyone look at me sideways >>
-
No worries...... next time hopefully you will not have any further jams :)
-
Hey everyone, Hows everything going???
My names Latham and I am down playing in WAC/PAC.

Hi Guys,
Just a note to say hi and looking forward to getting out on the field with you all. Been playing Ram for a couple of yrs looking for a change.
Great choice of weapons in airsoft and looking forward to purchasing in the near future - once i decide what to buy. Any advice on what to buy would be appreciated. Considering: Star .338 Sniper Rifle or G&P SDV blow back model or a bolt action sniper rifle.
Cheers,
Comrade Lenin.
-
stay away from the G&P dragunov...
more trouble than worth.
the STAR is pretty damned brand spanking. I dont know of a proper review of it as yet.
Bolt actions.. uhhh.. Warrior 1 as stock.
Sad to say, but pretty damned good.. buggerit
-
greetings,
welcome to the world of airsoft... the range of guns is fantastic B)
-
i was looking at a Marushin 1983 Winchester Maxi (Lever-action) Gas the other day
Must admit it took alot of effort not to click the "Add to Cart" option
-
ok ... time to place one here ...
*stands up* ... im an Addict  ... *sits down*
been an Addict for 16yrs now and counting ...
it started off quite mildly ... sniffing and licking paint on the wargames field ... with my Dad ...
then we were joined by my Uncle and his Wife and his 2 younger kids ... and my other twin Cousins ... and my Dad's Niece and Nephew ... and my Dad's construction Foreman ... and 2 of my Dad's best Friends and their Wives ... and one of my Dad's Clients and his 2 Sons ... and 2 of my Uncle's In-Laws and their Wives ....
then it got worse ... we then started to get more addicted and started doin tournaments and not being satisfied with just having a weekend fix ...
a year and a half later ... we were doin the hard stuff ... u know ... that White thing that you can't live without ...
now ... im the only one left ... and i still cant get enuf of the White stuff!!! ... work schedules is helping me a bit to curb this Addiction ... but its worse ... as i feeds my Poser tendencies by having more $$$ to spend on EBay, buying more camo and gunz from overseas!!!!!

Not the best gun..but then again you'd probably remake the whole thing anyway :P

Whats the best:
Tanaka M700 AICS or Maruzen APS Type 96.
Comments welcome
Cheers,
Comrade Lenin
-
two differnt units..
Spring or Gas..
Spring is far more consistent.. but harder to cock at higher FPS levels.
The AICS now has a new hopup system available to order.
Bane. the Winchester is a bloody nice piece to use, and fire. My only issue with it was the rear sight - it was far far far too loose. Yes.. it is that one that has a notch OR you can flip it up and raise or lower the bar for it.
Very nice, solid, wood, metal, yummy.
Get a back holster for it. :)
-
Before you know it we'll be having cowboy games.
-
Anyone for a stand off comp next game :P
-
Hell yes, I need an excuse to use my winchester..spring one tho :P

I say buy them first, if you don't like it sell it. Everyone else will have a different opinion, what matters is your own coz it's yours!

MMMmmmm
I also have been hearing good things about the JG bar10 lately.
-
Vladimir Illyich Ulyanov (sp) ... Dude.. you can very occasionally get AKs too..
rather than just the AKM flavour, there are 74s 104s and long AKMs around..
rarely..
must have been hard.. playing with no russian sidearm.. and just the AK47 ram.. :)
what sort of thing are you hunting for btw?
-
Have the option to purchase the following:
TM VSR 10 G Spec - stock rifle 300 fps
or
Tanaka M700 A.I.C.S. - stock rifle 395 fps.
Are these rifles suitable for sniping role with current fps?
Is there anyone that can help advise me on upgrades and assist with installing (remember guys im a ex Ram player and have limited knowledge of airsoft).
Maybe buy both ans solve the problems of gas over spring - have one of each.
Appreciate any comments and advice.
Cheers,
Comrade Lenin
-
Ex Ram Player? did I read that correctly? you mean you're crossing over for good?
Probly best to come to a game so you can see some of the guns that you might be interested in getting, try before you buy if you like?
PM firewolf I think he has a wide variety when it comes to sniper rifles, he has a "Punishing" upgraded VSR 10 just ask the Punisher, He's been punished by it!! :D
-
Lol :) Yeah, just come over buddy, you'll see various stuff and then it'll be easier to make a choice.
-
Agreed come to a game and have a look at them first. Im sure someone will lend you a gun if i have more than 1 working i would be happy too ...

I think the Tanaka is better then the TM VSR(both well within fps limit). A few in the club have the warrior L96 which is around 450 to 470 fps. Its also really cheap to get.
However.... best thing is come to a game... get to see the other guns... have a play and go from there. Many start with snipers.... but soon change :P

WW2 airsoft is getting popular in NZ now. Sooo many cool toys and nice repo stuff coming through. Some yank stuff( unless a SMLE comes out:P ) is on my ever growing to get list, slightly on hiatus atm tho.

Hi all,
I've just moved in to the country since 2 weeks and know nobody... I've been playing airsoft since 8 long years back in Switzerland where i had a team. I'm 23, i served in the army and know about weapon security rules, and I'm looking to play with you guys now that i live here in Auckland. I need fresh gear, can I rent some to start with, or do people lend/sell aeg's ?
Thanks
(http://i23.dnspro.org/u/f23/11/52/25/74/presen10.jpg)
-
Greeting and welcome,
We have a few loan guns that can be used at games for a small donation. Just a note that in NZ we only have semied aeg's are can't use or own full auto AEG's.
Sounds like with your army training we could learn a thing or two from you B)
See you at a game soon

Welcome to airsoft in New Zealand and Auckland :). Have some rental SAEG's a bunch of jg g36's which are really nice. They cost $20 for the day so not hugely expensive. The other rule we have is people need goggles, unfortunatly we cant use shooting glasses.
We have a game on the 10th of november so you should try get along, great way to make friends :P. Do you have a car being so new to the country or do you need a lift? If a lift just let us know what area you are based and we can arrange it :)
Anyway welcome and shoot you soon

Any good advice you can give me on buying a good rifle would be appreciated.
Sorry this is a little of a late post. Just a warning, got my HFC VSR-11 a while back and I only recently used it for a game. There's a lot of good reviews on the web for this rifle but when I first got it, it was full of gunk grease. Still requires a lot of cleaning out for a new gun.
Might be my bad luck but it seems everyone removed the lead weights (in the piston) on this gun. On my first game with it, with a doggy hop up, this seems like a must.
Lot's of guys have the Warrior L96, which is a great rifle. Come to a game and have a chat with the other guys. I've also heard good things about the Marushin M700.
-
Hey guys,
I was talking to a friend of a friend over the weekend and he told me that he attended some of the games you guys put on.
I've played paintball a few times before, but haven't tried Airsoft - I'd be keen to come along to one of your games to check it out.
I don't have any equipment, so I'd need some loaners i.e. Mask, gun etc. Can you guys hook me up if I bribe you with with NZ currency? :D
-
Welcome to the addictive sport of airsoft. We sure can hook you up with the appropriate gear :) Some of us have plenty of spare masks and goggles and are generally willing to lend them out for free (i have 4 in total so am normally happy to lend out a pair or two) As for a gun to shoot people with we have a bunch of g36's we have access to rent out and they cost $20 per day so not hugely expensive, ammo this is about $20 for 4000bb':)
Have a look at the events section and try get out to a game.
-
Hi Hazardu5, welcome to Airsoft :)
If you check out the events section, you can also get a gun hire (be quick, first come first served) for a 20. Details are posted.
I usually carry an extra goggle and scrim (camo scarf) you can borrow for the game. But it's a bright orange goggle if you like the extra challenge. ;)
-
A little slow there Jansen :P
-
Hey there,
you can just call me houdini, or dean, whatever you want, i'm not fussed... :D
i've been into airsoft for a long while, never been in a club as i live up north and there is no interest to the extent in which we could have proper skirmishes and what not.. Just shooting our mates out the farm n stuff..
So yea,
howdy.
-
A little slow there Jansen :P
Two minutes.. I bow before your N3t l33tne55 and Kung Fu
-
Hey, im James (or Jamie if you wish to be a little more informal). I'm 17 currently turning 18 in a few months and cant wait to come along and participate in one (hopefully more than 1) of these events!
-
Welcome aboard!
You can play a game before your 18, you just arent legally allowed to own a gun before then (OR you can go get your gun licence)
-
Oh sweet, so i at this age would be able to play with out a gun license, using a borrowed gun or somthing?
I dont think ill bother getting a gun license, i have no where to use a real gun and i dont really have the time to use one either :P
Oh by the way, where are the games played usually?
-
Bane is sort of correct it just isnt pratical. You can play before you are 18 provided a legal gardian is within arms reach at all times. Best to wait untill you are 18 me thinks.
-
Oh ok sweet, thats only a few months off anyway so not too long to wait. B)
-

Hey team,
I'm new to the whole scene so looking forward to getting into it & any tech advice that comes with it. I'm in the process of getting hold of a rifle of some description but I wouldn't mind coming out & spectating a game or two just to get an idea of what I need.
Cheers,
Charles
-
I was given good advice. Dont buy airsoft weapons from retailers in NZ. They charge way too much. TM M92F military from a store in auckland ~$350-$400. They are like ~$100 US on the online stores :D
-
buy gear instead.
I found reasonable prices for GEAR at youngs in Dominion road, Auckland
Maglights, scopes, etc.
Even some good magazines.. :D (for the posers)
-
Just check out the 'Where to Buy' section. In general do not import any AEG or electric based guns. They won't get in.
Semi auto handguns and single shot rifles are generally ok. No one has mentioned shotguns on the forums I think, but I've got one on its way. I'll let you guys know if it's stopped or not.
-
shotguns are fine, everything but aegs are fine pretty much, sometimes spring auto replica rifles are stopped and the worst case ive had is my marui colt 45(one of the first in nz) was stopped because it said "colt 45 automatic". but they've sorted that out now :P

Welcome...
Getting along to a game is a great idea. You will also quickly see a gun in the field that you want and I'm sure that there will be those here that can help out on that front. We have loan / rental guns.. so don't feel you have get a gun before joining a game.
All the best
Bart (aka Mark)

Cheers for that. I have a metal M9 GBB that's taken a bit of abuse that I plan to use. I'm after an M4 rifle of some description. Just wondering whether people are using spring guns or converted AEGs etc. Not even sure if you can get gas M4s. Would be cool though. When & where is the next event? Should be just the learning curve I need.
-
Soonest event will be this saturday the 8'th, in Onehunga
-
Hi im new to the whole airsoft thingy my cousin who plays in christchurch introduced it to me, If I am only 17 can i still play? or do I have to sit out and watch?
-
Greetings and welcome,
I take it you in Auckland not Christchurch. You may be able to play. We comply with NZ law regarding the ownership and use of Airsoft guns which require that you be 18 or 16 with a gun license. So..... if you have a gun license you can join in.
Cheers
Bart

-
ok thanks but no I dont dam oh well next year then
-
Unfortunate.... but your still welcome to come along and meet the crew and see the guns :)
-
ok thats prity sweet then
do you have to have a gun licence if under 18 and own an airsoft gun?
or is it just for the club
-
You have to be 18 and old or 16 with a gun licence in order to own an airsoft gun. That is the requirement according to NZ law. We don't make the laws, just follow them.
-
oh oops i was givin one for an early christmas present id better get a licence then
thanks for all the help and when is the next game? as i have seen the calender thing but there is nothing on it?
-
Hey Guys,
I'm new but keen to have a go at Airsoft, Just bought a Marui gbb pistol and I would be interested in coming out to a game to find out more.

Hi, This is Alfie from Auckland
Nice to see all your guys here!!!
I just bought 2 Marui Glock 17 GBB. One is held for customs clearance while another is on the way to NZ.
I wanna ask ur guys a question but I can't start a new topic in 'General' Category.
The question is 'What is the rifle I should buy from overseas?'
It's not easy to find a semi-auto rifle except M1 Grand and Kar98. No sniper rifle plz.
I like the classic army AK74, but it is AEG.
Anyone can give me some other options?
Cheers
-
Certain SEG's are easier to bring in (SEG = Semi Electric Gun) such as the PSG-1
Alot of the airsoft sites you buy through will semi a gun for you aswell
-
Come to a game meet the guys decide if you like it then look at a rifle :)
-
Hey all,
I'm new to airsoft, I'm 18 and got a TM p228 Springer, just for now lol. Looking forward to coming along to a game sometime.
Cheers,
Karl.
-
Welcome Karl :)
Go to the events section and sign up for a game. Next one is this Saturday, and it's gonna be a big Xmas bash :D
If you can't make it, no problem. Just keep an eye on the events section. There's usually a game every two weeks.
-
Can't make this weekend :( ...But thanks for the welcome! I'll be lock n' loaded next year then :D
-
That's a bummer Karl, but there's always next year! (as you said) :D
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I am a screen printed/sign writer by trade and have my own setup at home so i could be off use to the club in a number of ways.
thanks.

This could turn out like Fight Club.
"Remember this. The people you're after are everyone

Hello!
My name is Kai, Nice to meet you all.
I am currently saving up to get my gear to come and play airsoft.
Im a good friend of Gaahl and he is the one that got me into playing airsoft.
-
Welcome Kai!
It'll be good to see you at a game soon :D
-
Lol, hey Kai.
Im looking forward to shooting you soon!
-
Why does everyone want to shoot at the new players? Why can't is be "Welcome [blank], I look forward to teaming up with you in the spirit of friendship and fair play in order to whop all the players out there who seem to want to shoot you so badly because you are new"?
Just a thought. :P
Hi, Kai. I look forward to seeing you around April time when I head south.

nah shooting at is more fun, there was one game when we linned up all the new players and shot them :P.
And the old way was downed piolet 2 new players were sent out with a 10min head start then hunted down by the rest

Hey my name's Leo, Been playing for 2 years never played in a game tho, wondering if you guyz use aeg's or gbb's in the game cos im interested in playing. Im too poor all i got is a gbb pistol -- lol
-
Most of us play with SAEG's. But some player with gbb's and springers sp dont let your weapon put you off i have seen a guy with a pistol taken out an entire opposition :o
-
Why does everyone want to shoot at the new players? Why can't is be "Welcome [blank], I look forward to teaming up with you in the spirit of friendship and fair play
But if we were all to team up in the spirit of friendship who would there be too shoot? We've got to have some form of animated target or we may as well all go still target shooting lol
Also its a bit boring it you just say "Welcome [person]" and end the sentence at that lol. I would find it much more welcoming to be told people wanted to fire plastic projectiles at me lol.
-

Welcome Leo, One of my favourite guns is a springer :) A GBB in CQB will work just fine, seen plenty of guy do well with just a handgun. ;)
-
Hi I'm Tom. I wasn't a bot last time I checked.
I have no experience with Airsoft but it looks like a bunch of fun and Airsoft Auckland looked like a good place to get started.
The joining guide says:
1) Get in touch with a senior player
Can one of said senior players PM me please? I'm keen to be shot at at your earliest convenience :)
-
PM'd :) and im impressed you have read out forums :D
-
Hi all,
Another completely new player here, names Mark and am looking forward to playing my first game(let alone buying my first gear).
hopfully ill be able to get some game time soon, work permitting.
-
Don't worry mark, Hyuga and i are short on gear too....i'm sure the 3 of us will be all kitted out by the 23rd....
-
yeah, im probably gunna hold off buying a gun untill then, and hire if i am allowed to play.
although im tempted to get one of those warrior sniper rifles and a socom pistol as firsts.
-
Do you mean the Mk23 (Socom)? Hold off before thiking of buying one of those. I own one as I thought they were never going to make a USP..... 2 companies released one about half a year later. ¬_¬
They are over sized and no one uses them anymore. You need to be a naturally massive guy for the thing to actually fit. They look good but then the USP looks the same and is a lot more natural to handle.
I own a USP compact myself and it is fantastic.
It is always super to have new interest in the sport. Welcome to the family, Virus.
-Tank
-
HAhah, brought my USP Spinger to the CQBmatch on sat...Chrono clocked it at 8fps then 45 fps... i nearly died of shame.
I have an M1911 but i would really like to get a USP or a SigP226 later on.
-
what do you use to test the fps?
once i get my gun id be very interested to find out how fast it shoots.
Ps: does any one have a TM Socom mk23 that i can look at/ pop a few shots off to see if it will be suitable for play/or just for show.
-
There was a LOT of hardware at the last match, i did not see a SOCOM.
They use a Chronograph, you shoot through a tube and it measures how fast the bb passes through. RedWolfAirsoft.com has one on their site for sale if you want to have a look and a read about it....not that googling wont do the same
I'm not to keen on a glock because everyone has one....but i would buy TWO dual tone glocks....hmm yes....

My first ever airsoft game (which was in woodland) involved me pulling out my Glock 18 springer when my MP5 jammed. I was taking pot shots at 20 meters without a hop so I had to elevate it about 20 degrees to try and get it to reach a house window. I perished after 10 shots when they realised I was trying to hit them and brought 2 AEGs to bear. I learn't my lesson. If you don't have a good shot then fix bayonet and close the gap.
Virus, if you are naturally less than 16 stone in weight (and not just fat) then chances are you are wasting your time with a Mk23. Perhaps we need a few more reviews of pistols and rifles that might help people know more about what they might want? Actually, stupid idea. I have had no end of grief with my Star Minimi yet some swear by them. I suppose it depends if yours is made last thing on a Friday afternoon. :P

Hi I am one of Bullet Magnets +1's for the game on Sat, and am here to see what I am getting my self in for. Am pretty excited, have a feeling that I may get addicted.
-
You can take solace in "having a feeling you might get addicted" but we all know it is just a feeling. The reality is you will... then go bankrupt.
"Airsoft, more expensive than crack". I love this s**t!

G'day guys I am quite new to air soft and am saving up for a good marker but I all so have a tippmann K-600 (green gas) pistol but the seals are leaking in the mag (not bad at all one fill lasts 5 mags + depending on temp of the day) but I was wondering if anyone would know how to replace these seals? can/will pay money for any work done of cause. all so I want to know what is the best gun for a newbe to buy I have fired rifles before and can aim... I would have made my own topic but I am not allowed :) so sorry for puting this in the wrong one :)
-
We call them Weapons of Mass Destruction, not markers.... ;)
ok fine we just call em weapons. <_<
-
Sorry bud, been around paintball players to much!
-
Seen it on trademe, looks alright, but i wouldn't buy it. check WGC and REDWOLFAIRSOFT,they have wikkid guns
-
Yeah I got it for $50 so can’t really complain just want to know how to open and replace seals I would have thought most manufactures would use a similar setup? I think the back of the mag would unscrew revealing the gas valve etc?

...that actually looks alright..would look better without that red tip. Blowback?
-
No not blow back yeah I am going to get some mdl paint this week and do a nice job of painting it black, it is plastic but very nice almost rubber plastic guess that’s what you get for $50 tho. All the parts inside it are mettle not sure what kind of mettle tho.
Weighs in at just over 600g’s
-
what area of auckland are you in? i can re-seal the gun for you
-
I am near Pakuranga / howic but can travel elsewhere no prob. I would like to learn how to do this unless it is a trade secret. Is it a difficult task to change these seals?
-
Hey guys, some of you might remember my name from the past, anyway, now that I have a new job which pays a lot better, I've decided to get into airsoft properly.
Currently own a TM Berretta M9 Tactical Master, full metal conversion with a couple of extra hicap mags, makes for a decent sidearm but I'll be looking into getting a decent rifle (maybe mp5?) sometime in the near future.
I'm really into CQB but I have no problem crawling around in the mud and leaves either :P
Need to sort out some gear to keep me hidden, but I know a few places to look so I shouldn't have any trouble with that.
Hopefully be able to come to a game soon, just need a break from work to coincide :D
See you guys soon (more likely you'll see me, and I won't see a thing)
Alex

Welcome back :)

Hi guys, just joined up and letting u no im here

Welcome hope to meet you at an event some time soon :)
he was at the sd game on sat.
-
Lol my bad. Hmm in that case i think i knwo who he is :) just unlike most here he didnt introduce himself by his forum name :o
-
lol, he never had a forum name, he was my +1.
You probably saw him hanging around kelly (stealth) if u were on red team (red vs blu vs a$$holes), or who ever i took to mc donnalds (kelly, killer fox?, and some random guy who i never really caught the name of) would know him as the guy in the front with the ipod.
-
yea, i had a blue beenie on
-
Hi guys B)
My name is Barton. Im totally new to the Airsoft sport but definitely keen to try it out and enjoy some awesum adrenalin rush!
I got a few questions:
- What gear do I need for my first game? And where do I get them from?
- How do I find out about upcoming games and who do I contact if I wish to attend a particular game?
Looking forward to meeting the team :D
Cheers,
Barton
-
Welcome you should be able to see our events section with all our events in it :) We have a game this saturday if you wish to come.
As for gear required for your first game absolutly nothing except yourself a good attitude food and water. Ammo can be purchased at events and a g36 can be hired for $20 for the day and im happy to lend you some eyewear.
-
Hi Chibt,
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I wont be in Auckland on Saturday.
So are there chances that they run out of guns at events?
Your generosity is greatly appreciated :D
-
Sometimes i've seen the guns run short but some ppl are generous enough to lend you a gun for the day. But i won't lend you one. Make sure you show up next week
You can drive us maybe :D
Hope Hamilton sucks so you regret missing this weekend :P
-
Rolf shut up Postman :P
Guns only run out if people (including me) are disorganised. I have to order the number of toys we need 1 week in advance so i take a guestimate from the interest up untill that point as to how many i get. So yes they run out but i can get up to 15 g36 if given enough notice plus 5 or so others who will lend, but that again requires time.
Hmm does that sort of answer your question??
-
Rolf shut up Postman :P
I went to school with Barton in Fiji, he turned me down doe this weekend for some party in Hamilton. Until he makes it to a game....he can take all the mud i'm slinging
-
Yep, thats what I wanted to know Chibt.
AS for Postman... Man, I cant wait to shoot your ass! I dont think I wanna use your gun.. might not be gud enuf for me  mud slinging me huh.... I'l make sure you get your money's worth of BB bruises!
Yeah, unfortunately my missus's bro's 21st is on Sat.
Hell yeah Im in next week! Would games commence in wet weather???
-
Not normally, most guns are electric and can't get wet.
I hope it rains so you can't come next week too
-
ruthless! Get padded camo overalls bro... you will need it when Im shooting at you...

Hi everyone,
Just making myself known so you don't think i'm a complete random! I'm Amber, Delta's girlfriend. Getting right into airsoft now (although i still haven't got a uniform that fits properly lol) but hope to see you all at future games!
-
Hi Amber, welcome :)
Took me a while to find a set that would fit my wife.
Now that the baby bump has gone she should fit again :P
-
Hiyo!
I was in the ACU, they warned us newbies that you were dangerous, you proved that in the ambush eh!

I'm new and she never got me :P
I "Banged" her in the hill assault though

yeah was mint meeting u man.
ur guns were hot :D

Careful how you use that word "hot".
1) People might get suspicious that the weapon is too powerful
2) Or worse, Tank thinks he is a great lover and wants some action.
Did you know?
Tank is in a chirpy mood today.

Hello ppl... I live on Waiheke Island (30 min on a ferry 2 Auckland) Im only 17 so cant play airsoft yet as i dont have a firearms licence :( .I intend to get started the second i turn 18.

whens the bday?
-
Hi everybody.
I checked out the stand at the gun show on Saturday and I'm very keen to give it a try. I've been bored for months and this looks like something I could really get into.
I haven't had alot of experience with combat games, mainly just occasional paintballing, ipsc shooting and alot of video games.
Who would be the best person to talk to about organising coming out to see a game one weekend? My friend is also very interested about this to.
Cheers
Joe V

Greetings and welcome. I'm sure you'll get hooked after the first game.

Like crack, airsoft is ever so moreish.

-
Hey all,
Names Willsy, haven't played Airsoft as a team sport, but I was in the Infantry for 8 years, shooting real assault rifles and throwing grenades.
Does that count?
Into this now I've moved to Auckland and am out of the Army.
My biggest problem is trying to use this forum...
Cheers.
-
Greetings..... looks like your already getting the hang of the forums having made your first post. Currently you will have limited access. Members get access to addition pages, like sales sections etc.
Cheers

Yay.
Now I don't feel so special.
As in Olympics..
-
If you feel that uncomfortable using the internet I am sure we can arrange someone to give you a call to help get you out to a game ;) just say so if you want us to :P
-
No, I'm fine.
I was an IT Engineer for 6 years, I'm ok with it.
My comment was in regards to using the forums, I never have.
Thanks though, I appreciate the efforts to assist.
I'll pay you back by shooting you sometime....

Any recommendations for a newbie?
I was thinking of getting a SCAR-H. Nice piece.
Do you all get your stuff from Kiwi Disposals?
I still have a set of cams and boots, so sorted there.
-
What stuff from Kiwi Disposals? CAmo? Sometimes...
SCAR-H....very nice. I know some people here that want one. GET IT. I have a HK416 coming in...Also keen on an M14 EBR Long Version...
Are you into Assault?
-
Did you import it?
Are they set at Semi, or did you have to tell the supplier?
-
PM mr westie as hes the club armourer, thats the best place to start and he can help you with where and how to get airsoft SEG's i think you'll only get limited help till people have meet you, according to your profile your a bot,.. hmm
-
I don't know any AEGs that DON'T have AUTO capability, if you're interested in bringing something in, Just find what weapon you are after, copy the link and PM it to Mr Westie who is our club Armourer, he can take the hassle out of bringing it in and gaurantee you get your weapon.
-
I changed the profile to say I'm not a bot, sorry about that.
What do you mean, I'll only get limited help till someone meets me? Do we think we're in the CIA all of a sudden?
I'll have a yarn with Mr Westie on Thurs, see what the go is. Faster I get on to it, faster I get my gear sorted.
Cheers for the help so far men.
-
I don't know any AEGs that DON'T have AUTO capability
could this possibly be because aeg stands for AUTO electric gun?
but to your point, systema make some semi only guns.

nothing but BDUs and running shoes (excuse the rhyme). kinda left on short notice and i doubt they would let me keep my guns in the hostel so yeah... loaners appreciated and if nothing amounts then i dont mind being marhsal or ref or whatever :)

-
Guns? you mean sports equipment.
You are welcome to come but realistically you are looking at standing around and observing if you have no weapon. And if it was an ASA game you could get a loan gun but as it is, I don't think you will get one for Saturday...even Chibt couldn't lend you one. He's the gun destroyer.

hello stranger

-
Hi Craig, We try to run a game every two weeks but lately have had some canceled due to poor weather. Most sites are within 30km from Auckland central and standard rate is $10 for entry and $20 to hire a gun if you need one.
I hope we can see you and your friends soon at a game.

15 for field fee
20 for hire gun
20 for bag of bbs <--- This can be split/shared between two.
EDIT:Sorry Wege! You're right, i signed up at my first game so i never felt that bullet! :P
-
erm..
15? for non-members for field fee, was it not?
-
can i split the gun in half
-
sure, but it will cost you a few hundred
-
Hey guys, i already put up a couple posts but thought i'd say hi anyway.
I'm new to this whole thing although i already most things needed lol
Hopefully I'll have a game soon
-
Hi, I'm Joel. Im kinda just exploring airsoft at the moment as I'm not sure if I want to get into it or not. If I do then I plan on getting the A&K m249 as I love SAWs. I'm keen for a game and most likely will be looking to play one soon so I can get a feel for what it's like.
-
Hey guys,
Im Joels friend who managed to get him into airsoft, Hoping to maybe play a few games with you guys and form an airsoft team out here in Howick.
At the moment all i have is a KWC Glock 19 but im in the process of ordering a Dboys m4a1.
Looking forward to posting around.

Welcome guys hope to see you at a game some time :)

Hey guys, Im new, Im friends with Neomaster, and I have known airsoft for ages and wanting to play, and neomaster knew about airsoft for 3 minutes after telling him about it and hes played with you guys last saturday which is crazy.
Also Jono got me to apply to these forums.
I got some questions.
Me and like 12 other guys want to play airsoft together but we all cant afford guns, can we still play?
-
You can hire them, $20 each, plus you will need to buy bb's.
-
there are limited rental guns avaible at most games and this is aranged in the week leading up to a game so there is a posibility.
-
ok cool, so if we wanted to play when can we play and what do we have to do? we live in the botany downs area by the way.
-
check events, that usually has whats happening that weekend. guns arent that expensive really usually around 200+ depending what u get but yeah best to have a looksy first before commiting your whole paycheck to it. trust me once u start u tend to go overboard.
-
I think i have gone already overboard.
but yea I think its a good idea for the rest of my group to try it out first.
Is it necessary to have uniform?
-
not really guns are the most important imo get that then everything would come later.
p.s going overboard is buying the real deal optics for a airsoft gun imo, but saying that i was gona buy a real eotech wich usually cost around 700-800 depending on model and type for mine.
-
 I want to play now!
-
lol your still up! geez go shoot the brit lol
-

a real eotech is more usable than a fake one.
-
And real rifle scopes arent actually a dumb idea.
Nowdays the very best rifle scopes are actually "Airgun Scopes"
Because funnily enough, airguns do more damage to optics than real guns do.
Its because of the spring in the airguns firing then stopping suddenly, puts alot of strain on the gun and the optics, alot of jarring around.
its why if you look at some of the very expensive and VERY high quality scopes, they are all listed as "Airgun capable" such as the Leupold's

Hi, I am Peter but call me "Oyda", live and work in South Auckland and look forward to my first game on Saturday. I am 22 years old and this is my hello everyone post.
I live in Whangarei witch about 2 hours north of Auckland.
Me and a small group of friends where interested in heading down and watching a game\event ( do not know what you guy like to call them) to see if we would like to join up not quite sure where to post it so I am placing it all in here, hopefully it will be as fun as it looks.
-
y not just join in on a game?
-
I dont have any gear and wasn't there some sort of safety test thing.
-
is loan gear and yea there is the induction thing but not at next game
-
Hi Russell, if you are driving down all that way might as well join in :)
We have loan gear available, just don't wear fluro spandex and you will be fine.
Yes you will have to do a quick (45mins) induction before you can play but we are usually on the field from 10am-4pm, longer now we have more daylight :P
So plenty of game time.
Although the next game there is no induction so will have to wait till the next one, 18/10
Hope to see you soon ;)
-
bring water... trust me.
Edit: -Alot of water.

Hey guys My name is Carl but i answer to Carlos, I got into Airsoft back in the day when Spring powered was the only option we had, my first gun was a Tokyo Marui HK MP5A2 and a TM non blowback gas powered Baretta 92F.
Dropped out for a while as there was no community and started looking into Paintball, I am now into Historical fencing and re-enactment, and have done a bit of LARPing with NZLARPS, I have gotten heavily into RAM over the last couple of years and I now play with the NZTGA in team RECON.
I recently sold my Airsoft collection but i am now getting interested in Airsoft sniping and I am shopping for a good sniper rifle, Sniping is my preferred role as I am at heart a sneaky sumbitch and I have a sniping name.
hope to talk to you all soon, glad to be here
cheers
Carlos
-
You have been around :)
Welcome.
-
yeah I figured out that i started playing with Airsoft around 20 years ago :o

And to think you were wanting me to give you mod powers posty
Welcome Raven, Chibt, i was merely pointing out the filth that this forum can clean out...
no wait thats still just me.
Scratch that.....
-
Heya all, I'm up in Whangarei and trying to get more people up here interested in Airsoft, if I'm successful then I may start a course of my own up our way because I am not much of a fan of traveling :)
I got myself a Maruzen Type 96 a couple of weeks back modded for 500 fps, and a really nice ghillie suit from the great guys at kiwidisposals.
I also have a KWC .50AE Springer, however I'm selling that to an interested friend so that I can get a gas powered pistol of some kind as sniper rifles are obviously not suited for those close encounters :P
Anyway, just saying hi and wondering who plays up my way who might be interested in coming to a few games some time or maybe even help participate in coming to make the field actually look like a battle field :D
-
Welcome dude. You never know ask around someone might be quite close to you, might be able to go to there's and then join them down to a game. We like Car Pooling around here =)
-
Welcome all the new guys. Should be a good summer of gaming :)

i could be wrong, but i dont think posts like these are going to help increase the female airsoft population :'( should be trying to lure them in, not scare them off.

Hello, I'm Simon.
I've never done airsoft before, but I'm looking to get into it.
I'm a friend of Sams/(Surago), some of you may know him, and he's been swaying me towards airsoft with stories and videos showing how and why it's so much cooler then paintball, I'm hoping to make it to the christmas event this weekend.
I'm also fairly keen on boxing and rugby. which I've been doing for 4 and 12 years respectively.
-
Hey, Mark here.
Had my first game on Saturday, the xmas game..
Bit of fun, plenty of running around, it's all good. have to get my own gun now and
be out there again for sure.

Hi. Im brandon.
Im 4 months away from airsoft if you include the 3 months to get a firearms license. i already have a hfc m190 (M9). Dont worry. my dad has a firearms license and it is under his care until i get mine. ill look at trying to get to a game soon so you might see me. im eager to play as i tried paintball and even call of duty beats that but airsoft. the moment i saw a vid of it on youtube by scouthedoggie i was hooked. and im getting a JG MP5 SD5 over christmas. well technically in 4 months wen i can legally get it from my dad so yea. looking forward to it.
-
Greetings Brandon, great to hear your so keen. All the best with getting the licence and see you on the field soon.
-
Ello, Im Jeff, I've paintballed a fair few times which is pretty fun stuff. I love the bangs, bruises, and leaping about like a possum in the bush.
I saw a sign tacked onto a fence close to my house on the way to the dairy on Luckens road, so I took a pic of it with my phone and popped up here after bashing the keyboard into submission!
ahahah I can quote something I haven't written yet
Yep, I'm not much of a net-hopper, but I have far too much spare time, greeeeeeeeeeeeen, whats this do
-

-
Welcome. Hope to see you at a game some time soon
-
Yo dudes, I'm Robert. I used to do this in Cornwall park with a few mates and a friend told me about you guys. Looking forward to some games =o
-
Hey Robert! It's great to see a lot of ppl who used to play with friends coming to the club for some more organized gameplay!
-
Hello!
I am a 21 year old from Calgary, Canada, and I have been playing airsoft with the local club (JOC) for four years. I am currently planning a four month vacation to NZ next year (I know, I'm getting ahead of myself) and I don't think I could go that long without airsoft!
I don't think I could responsibly bring my own rifles with me, but I could bring my gear easily. I figure it would be fairly easy to pick up a used M4 locally, and resell before I leave. Just wondering how the local scene is for classified?
I'm hoping you have LOTS of games during your summer. I love a chance to play with new guys.
Cheers, Jono.
-
Hay Jono
There a few guns that come up for sale every now and then also it dosnt take long to get one inported once you are here, or by proior arangment with the club armours, also there are usually loan guns etc. Will be good to see other people at games to.
Out of interest how did you find ASA?
-
Linked from Airsoft New Zealand, which I found via google.
It's going to be really interesting to see how another club is run, heh.
-
Jono- If you were to bring your airsoft guns from Canada... I suspect that if you wanted to take it back with you, then you would need to talk to Canadian Customs/Border people first.
There are some things that you can get down in NZ FAR more easily than in Canada... like all manor of metal accessories - but they all need importing.
Can you let us know what price you paid (Canadian) for a standard M4 up there? (I have no access to the sales area in the airsoftcanada scene as I am not age verified. :) )
-
Importing replica firearms is illegal in Canada. We're still coasting off a fairly insane blackmarket. It's bad.
A stock TM used to go for $350 or so NIB, the new clear plastic G&Gs are going for $450-$500 (legal for import).
I would never be able to bring a rifle back to Canada! Hah.
It would be awesome to build myself an M4 when I'm down there, but I'm not sure if my travel budget wants to spend $1000 on upgrading an M4, mags (I only use lowcaps), etc, only to resell for a fraction of that cost. =\ But who knows, eh?
-
get in contact with one of the armourers here:
Mr Westie or Chibt.
you can get a very reasonable TM PMC for what.. 500$ NZ?700$ nz?
failing that.. there are the various other ones around for a fair bit less.
-
Damnnn, I like those exchange rates. :) Maybe I will do that route. I could send money and arrive to a good to go M4? Awesome.
What about Systema PTWs? Have those hit NZ yet?
-
dont think ppl here are usign the PTW's the marked here used to be very expensive for guns so, but at the moment the market is quiet resonable.
-
I don't know of a single PTW in this country - the mechboxes are very different... will be possible to semi I spose, but ...because we have not had our hands on one... etcetc
Just remember, that it HAS to be Semi-Auto only.
-
Semi is cool, I rarely touch full anyways.
There's a really simple mod you can do on PTWs to make them three round bursts, basically just a little soldering. Would that be legal? I don't own one yet, but getting one in the spring.
I'm okay with TM with metal upgrades. :D
-
Burst isn't legal either, one trigger pull one shoot, thats it.
-
dont systema sell a semi version of their ptw's anyway?
-
dont systema sell a semi version of their ptw's anyway?
Affirmative. But good luck getting one. Nobody stocks them and you have to get it direct from Systema
-
which COULD work out cheaper? :D
-

Some things never change :(
-
how do so many people kill there guns. oh. then again i boke my pistol and hicap withing 24 hours of each other lol. oh yea. chibt. the part that blew out on my mag was useless. its a little cog that sits there and turns. doesnt actually do anything. just occupsie space. and it just fell out of its spot. so im gona leave it out and fill the spot where it was so a bb doesnt jam the cogs. just out of curriosity. how many official members are there. and then how many members are there in total( non official included)?

Hi all I am new here hoping to get into this sport as I have been intrested for a loing time but just never got off my ass and got into it.
Few things about me:
Name's Marlon, Surname Pepper, Im from South Africa been living in New Zealand for about 4 years now, aged 22, training to be an aircraft engineer at this stage, Ya I think thats enough formalities for now.
Just want to ask a few questions, are there any games being held any time soon, and if is there any chance of me hoping in for a quick look see on how you guys opperate, maybe jump in for a quick game if any equipment is available?
Just want to have a perve on what sort of gear you guys use, where they are available from and what sort of areas you have available for gaming, also want to have a chat about available guns if anyone can get me in touch with the club armourer?
If possible can anyone with any relivent information please pm me?
Cheers
Marlon

Ok so what time is the saterday games? and what is the exact location, thanx?
-
The games usually start around 9 or 10 so you need to leave around 8 or half 8 to arrive on time, the games are out in Hellensville, post your attendance in an Events thread and someone will PM you the location closer to the day, we don't heaps of randoms showing up to a game area and getting shot by stray fire because we didn't know they were coming...

Hey Im a friend of Sam. I just moved to Auckland and I'm interested in getting into Airsoft, he suggested I come along tommorow.
Only problem is I live in the city and have no way to get out to wherever you guys have your matches and stuff.
I'm a student at uni and my saturdays are generally pretty dull, cause Uni and work takes up most of my other time, and it would be pretty cool to start doing something fun again :).
-
where abouts in auckland did you move, theres often car pools from all over the place, im sure there'd be one near you

Welcome!
There's definitely a contingent who love their military simulation and scenarios (and some of them are pretty darn good at it too!), and then there's slackers like me who just wanna relax a bit by shooting at each other ;)
Either way, have fun! :)

Hey guys. Most of you will remember me as Wraith. Well, I'm here under a new name to make a new start. I still have 2 months until I'm 18, but thought I might as well join up again and re-start the process of joining and playing. I'm glad to hear that airsoft has made a large move towards MILSIM and I look forward to playing against everyone in the near-ish future.
As to those who remember me, I accept that I made a total douche of myself while leaving, and I apologise sincerely. I just hope you guys take me back ::)
A little bit about myself since you guys last saw me. I am in my final year of school, can't wait to leave. Played a few RAM games, awesome fun, but too sporadic (I am still associated to KSK and RAM). As I said, the whole new approach to MILSIM in airsoft is great news. Finally, I'm half way through the process of joining the NZ Army as a grunt.
So yea, see you guys out there!
-
buy me an ice cream and ill think about it

Hi
I'm Chuansen or just Chuan. I have played many games in the backyard of the house in Devonport and a few on a friends farm. I have enjoyed them thoroughly. Since i am only 15 i will bring a parent to every game i attend. I am looking at at attending a newbie game with an 'induction' so any updates on these games would be appreciated. I currently have a semi auto SigSauer pistol and two spring (maui and kwc) and full camo. Look forward to coming along to a game soon.
Chuan. ;)
-
Welcome to the club :) Ill let you know via MSN about the next induction game.
-
Welcome
-
Since i am only 15 i will bring a parent to every game i attend.
Er, I thought that ASA's policy was 16 with gun license, or 18+, and no exceptions. So being 15 might make problems?
Otherwise, hi Chuan, and welcome! :)

He is brining his farther so thats ok :)
-
Correct on the age regulations as stated above. There is one exception for allowing those under the age to play in games and this is when accompained by a one of their parents (note it has to be the parent and can not be an older brother / sister or friend). The parent must bring them to and from the game as well as play and supervise their son / daughter during the game. If the younger player is seen to be irresponsible and does not follow rules / instructions or does something stupid the DS and / or committee members reserve the right to remove them from the field and ban them from attending future games. This is the only exception to the age rules as the parent is fully responsible.
-
Ah cool. I certainly wasn't trying to stop/put off anyone from playing, I just thought there might have been a problem come game time :D
-
All good :)
-
Don't know if it goes here, but how come i can play paintball without parental supervision, just a signed form? Also one of my friends down south says his club got permission to play with people under 16... Could you possibly investigate this?
-

Its on the clubs head if something goes wrong, waivers don't stand up in court, every club has its own rules, ASA's rule is no under 16 without supervision, at the end of the day taking the risk with underage players just isn't worth it, thats why we require an parent so they can carry the burden and watch out for you, its nothing personal
-
all cool,so coooool! i wanna go and play again! ;D

I gotta agree with Posty. Some of the people who come along to ASA events are really good. Then there's people like me who spend 90% of the time wearing a hit marker :D

Hey this is one of those introduction sections most forums seem to be getting nowadays. When you are new to the site please say "hi" here as opposed to having a new thread started every time some body joins.
Maaan I was so looking forward to spamming with a new thread for my introduction!! but since I generally also follow rules, I guess this instruction took that joy away from me....
HI!!!!! i've only ever been to 2 airsoft games. all within the last year!! I love guns now. I'm an addict you might say... is there an AA somewhere? (Airguns Annonymous) might need some help...
-
Hi, im new-ish to airsoft (been lurking for a while, same name on the asnz forums) got my firearms licence in May and am looking foward to coming to a game sometime.

Hey Everybody,
My name is Julian, i'm old enough to keep saying i'm young, and young enough to say that stuff out loud... ;)
I stumbled across Airsoft a year ago while in Australia, unfortunately that's where the fascination stops...Until i got here!
I want to experience the Sport, maybe collect some gear, but mostly use this as an opportunity for my partner, Kylie, & I to meet some people over here and have some life outside of work.
We are still settling in, with our stuff still in transit, but a car is on the cards soon - so transport won't be an issue. Until then, it's busses for us!
Thanks for the quick welcome over on the ASNZ Forums and the directions to ASA.
Regards,
OldManOZ.

welcome hope to see you at a game soon

Hey OldMan, where in Auckland are you, people may be able to offer you a lift to a game, in this day and age of stupid petrol prices its always good to car pool.

Welcome to NZ, im sure you'll get on well provided the Wallabies don't beat the AB's :p But as Chaos says carpooling is a geat idea particularly given the distance to some of our fields ...

Hi, I'm also new to the hobby. Hadn't played airsoft until recently, other than that I've only ever done a bit of plinking here and there over the years. Once I have some better kit, I hope to attend one of ASA's noob induction days and get owned.
Pleased to meet you,
Dan
-
Hi Dan/Ash,
You don't need better equipment to attend an induction day. All you strictly need to have when you turn up is good footwear, a good attitude, preferably a way to get home (people don't like being ambushed about driving somewhere out of the way), and money for the field fee.
Of course, the more of the equipment you have, the easier time you'll have of it.
Anyways, I ramble. Hopefully we'll see you at a game soon :)

Welcome Jayson, see out open events thread and get yourself to a game.

Thanks, I hope so, too.
My first game taught me the value of good footwear, I'm plannaing a visit to kiwi disposals before I get in the field again! Anyone know if those textile jungle boots are any good? They felt a lot lighter than the leather ones, and the soles seemed reasonably hardy.
-
I believe that some of the new jungle boots are waterproof but i don't know about their ones. Here it would be a bonus to be dry and a leather boot would give you more support. Personally I prefer ultimate comfort and support in a fight (which is why I have to get rid of my Oakley boots) to reduce fatigue on my legs and feet by them being solid as a rock.
That is personal preference of course but I would certainly stress that you look at a boot that will keep you dry in this most wet of countries.

Hi I'm Marc
New to the forums and to AirSoft Ive always had a interest in AirSoft really keen to come along and have a watch at one of your events and see what its like and then ill go buy some equipment a weekend or so latter, so if someone can send me a PM or a Email with some details would be appreciated .

The bulk of the information you need is either in the Information & Joining (http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?board=4.0) section on the forum or on the website (http://airsoftauckland.co.nz), this includes the information on the next games (http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/index.php?q=civicrm/event&reset=1) and if they are open to all or just ASA members.

alrite wicked read all the stickyd threads in the joining but it doesnt actually tell me who to get in contact with or maybe i just totaly missed the section. Also August 22nd, 2009 will be the next date i can attend correct? how can i get more info on where it will be held.
Thanks Marc
-
Closer to the day you will be pmed with the location. Tank is a commitee member, you can contact him. Basically you list attendance to a game using the e-rgistration or posting in the game thread and all the info will be in the first post, that is also the best place to ask questions about the game. There will be many there who can help with any questions.

Send either me or Tank a PM. If I don't get one by the time Im home tonight I will send you one. I know it use to say to PM us but we are currently redoing all that stuff so it might have been removed ;) Apologies if it has.
Details on the location will be posted as soon as I have booked the field. Chances are it will be out near Hellensville for a ruff guide so you might want to share the car ride with another player from wherever you come from. It can be a long lonely drive.

Hi all !
Im Jay - ex-pat kiwi coming home next year to go back to uni at Auckland studying engineering.
Im pretty keen to get into some airsoft action - seems a good way to keep active on the weekends and will be a great break from the school work !
Im 28 years old, NZ army trained but well out of practice ! Just spent a few hours reading up on the weapons and the like and as i understand the best thing to do first up is to just come down to a game and introduce myself.
Im not back in NZ till Feb next year - so in the mean time ill keep up with the information gathering and if anyone has any particularly good sites for info id be most obliged !
Looking forward to getting amongst it !
Cheers
Jay

Welcome asmo!

-
G'day all
Im 17 ( by the looks of this the youngest....) i have been playing paintball for about a year now and realy getting sick and tired having to fork out 70-100 per game and having to scrape all the paint of my uniform
So u guys look like just the ticket
Cheep
fun looking
and More realistic looking 2 :D
I am part of an organization call the A.T.C ( Air training corps) for those of u who dnt know wat that is its 1 of 3 corps ( Army Navy Air ) that give Young adults ( depending on the corps that belong to ) a taste of there Military field .
We all so teach our cadets ,NCO,Officers Bush craft skills ( so hopefully if i get lost i cn find my way home :) )
So all in all the People i bring with me will ALL take an order and will ALL follow the ranking person in the squad we are put with with out to much questioning
Cheers
Ginger
-
Greetings Ginger, do you have a gun licence? In order to be a member of ASA and attend games you need to meet the NZ firearms requirements for the ownership of an airsoft gun. 18 and above or 16 with a gun licence.
Cheers
Bart
-
Currently working on getting 1 but may take sometime as im a little short on funds ( isnt that always the case?)
hopefully will have1 in a couple of weeks
ish

A firearms license takes quite some time to come through. You need to attend a seminar with the mountain safety council, followed by a test. Then have 2 people interviewed and have whatever system you plan to store weapons in inspected.
So i pays to be ready to roll in one hit and have everything prepared. You will need to get a form from a police station, have a couple of passport photos and from memory about $123.50 i think (might have changed).
Fill in the forms and pay for it at a post office. They will attach the receipt to your form and then you go to the police station and submit your application. They will tell you when the next test/class is and i recommend you book fast as they do fill up.
You do the test and providing you are the type of person who should have a firearm you will pass, if not, yeah.... maybe its not for you. The test is common sense and i do really think if you fail you shouldn't get a second go, but yeah, i dont make the law.
They will then call the people you nominate (one can be family the other needs to be unrelated) and interview them, usually in person so this can take a while.
Once you get all the ticks in the box you then wait until one day the license turns up. There is no such thing as a temp license (like a paper car one) so you can be waiting for quite a while.
Also be prepared for an officer to inspect your gun storage setup.
So yeah, its defiantly not something you can do in a week. So the faster you get onto it the better. Or wait until you are 18, but i do recommend a license as you will learn alot and be a switched on dude. :D

G'day all
I'm Francis, 17 years old and a friend of W1dget. He introduced me to airsoft late last year so I decided to get myself a gun license. Am looking forwards to coming along to a few games.

Probably not, a $50 gun rack bolted in a closet is normally fine, hunt on trademe you can sometimes pick up cheap gun safes, if you try and cut corners all your going to do is slow the process down.

Hi I'm Cameron, I am 16 and I am new to the game.
I don't currently have any Airsoft rifles or pistols but I am looking around for the best prices or trying to purchase a 2nd-hand one.

Hi I'm Cameron, I am 16 and I am new to the game.
I don't currently have any Airsoft rifles or pistols but I am looking around for the best prices or trying to purchase a 2nd-hand one.
Also I know its a trade me one buts its one of the best I can afford for the time being.

Before you even THINK about getting a gun, work on your firearms licence first.
Your 16, you cannot even legally own an airsoft gun until you have a firearms licence.

Already applying.
Also:
Use of Airguns
* Anyone 18 years of age or older can possess and use an airgun.
* People under 18 years of age may use an airgun if:
* They hold a New Zealand firearms licence* OR
* They are under the IMMEDIATE SUPERVISION of a firearms licence holder or a person 18 years of age or older.
* Anyone under 16 years of age must always be under the IMMEDIATE SUPERVISION of a firearms licence holder or a person 18 years of age or older.

Please dont quote me the arms act, i've been around guns longer :)

As quoted, you yourself have stated that YOU are looking to purchase a rifle/airsoft gun, not your parents/misc. That alone is direct breach as to OWN An air-rifle you must be 18, or hold a firearms licence.

Immediate supervision is not by our organisers, but by your mum/dad who need to be a club member. Supervision requires actually being on the field within reasonable distance of you and not just droping you at the game and reading a book.
Good on you for applying for your gun licence! See you at a game when you get it! Or if your parents are willing to tag along to a game with you.
Edit Chibt - clearing some stuff up

Lol. :P

Welcome to the forums.
This thread has been cleaned up a fraction. If members want to see the debate it has been split off into the ASA members area and some editing has been done to ensure the info in this thread is correct.

Just thought I should RE-Introduce my self.
My name is also Cameron, but I'm a little older than the other one :)
Been to one game with the ASA for the LARP/ASA cross over game.
Interested in getting into the hobby. Spent a few hours down at the ASGC on tuesday (its REALY close to uni). Currently doing my research on kit. Looking forward to swinging by an open game once Uni is done for the year.
-
Welcome to airsoft ;) ASGC is a great place to wag lecturers :p

Actualy the network was down and someone was using the fabrication machines i needed....so I had spare time. :)

-
Hey Jimmy, we've always had public pages! See you Sunday?
-
Hey im will aka flea. whats the go with signing up to events im quite keen to get out there
-
In the handful of pages you can see, there should be an OPEN EVENTS board. go to a date that suits you and post your attendance and ask if you need a weapon hire or safety goggles.
Don't come in sunglasses. Or we'll kick you where the sun don't shine HAH, just joking.
-
so no sunnys but ballistic glasses are ok?
-
so no sunnys but ballistic glasses are ok?
Your got to be kidding. You need to wear appropiate eye protection. BB's will shatter sunnys and you will either damage or lose your vision.
http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/node/23
Safety
Goggles and face protection
Full sealing safety goggles with a ballistic rating NZS 1337.1 or similar, but not less than, must be worn at all times on the field outside the safe zone. ASA recommends full face masks, but it is your choice if you use full face or just plain goggles. Shooting glasses are acceptable.
Sunnys / normal glasses are not acceptable.
-
Shooting glasses are acceptable.
Yeah so my ICE ballistic glasses are ok? Yea by the way i was never going to wear sunnys! thats just plain stupid

all im saying is that any glasses SHOULD be fine ASLONG as they have the as/nzs 1337:1992 approved code on them
( ps this was not a personal attack )
-
lol he was refering to the post before his i think, also it has to completey cover your eyes with no gaps i wear guarder c3's. ess ice should be ok though,
if your unsure take a spare goggles aswell
-
Indeed, I was replying to the post above with reference to the sunny's. Not wanting to highjack the introduction thread, but it was cause for concern especially since I heard at the last induction game, that a couple of new players thought it might be ok to use sunny's. Not all read the rules and so I simply wanted to make it clear these are not suitable.
Blastic / shooting glasses are fine and as terrance12 pointed out they need to wrap around the face.
-
ok then :) i withdraw my rage :)
-
Mmmm I'll hope to go tomorrow if I can get a lift from someone !! :S Anyway nice to meet you all any how. About thoese eye protections thing. Yea you can get a pair easy from trademe and placese. I ordered a pair of guarder v4 but it hasn't arrived yet for tmm's game t_t;;

Hello all, my name is Michael, I've been playing ram for a little over a year, but all these sexy GBBRs are tempting me to airsoft hard:) I'm looking to get to the next induction, and I'm probably bringing 4 friends as well:)
-
Sweet and welcome to the addiction that is airsoft.
Look forward to catching up at the induction. Next one is 30th Jan
-
;D Thanks for the welcome :D
And i have a wpn now 8) heheh we M16-A3 blowback 2x 30rnd mags .. (i know ill need more)
but no goggles I'm looking out for some that wont interfear with aiming
-
;D Thanks for the welcome :D
And i have a wpn now 8) heheh we M16-A3 blowback 2 mags .. (i know ill need more)

i dont wana put you off, but if its a WEM16 a3 then it will be too hot for our fps limits unless you get a ratech adjustable nozzel to dial in the correct fps of 430 on .20
-
:o The we M16-A3 blowback form ASGC tested by them @ 260 fps i think it was 8) ... that or 360 maybe lol im not sure,
Anybody know strait out of the box fps ? (i can ring the shop they will know)
If i need to turn it down or up ill do that. Whatever it takes to play
i have not changed it .. yet ;)
P.S. i had my self shot @ 4m wearing a teeshirt, hurt a bit got a welt :'( no blood. ;D ;D
-
hopefully 360fps, 260 is too low
-
mine shot 100-260 i think dnt know but i was a bit depressed for a while though lol. tbh would of gotten an ics as a first gun imo the gbb's take time and effort to keep them at tip top performance
-
HCF low powered gas will do that (keep it within, but not the cheapest) on propane out of the box 500 plus fps lol to control the fps a ra tech adjustable nozzel, to lower the fps use HFC low powered gas.
Terence your was an m4 plus it wasnt set rite aye, this m16 is long barreled, remember my m16,lol it didnt get out much bcos of its power..
-
dnt think hfc will work in a WE its too weak if i remember right
-
dnt think hfc will work in a WE its too weak if i remember right
it works bro, low as power, but it works
-
Hey Guys! im Dave, im 20 and have owned airsoft guns (lil springers) since i was about 12.
i want to try out airsoft to see wat it is like. as i played quite a bit of paintball but there is little team work and it is pretty much every one for them selves and im not into that.
i own a src G36c and also a gas blow back toyko marui barreta m92 (biohazard / resident evil) and the clothing and tac vest to make me look kinda like a swat guy.
Should be fun!
-
Fun like nothing else! Except back to back episodes of family guy...now that's fun...
-

It is great to have interest from all these new people. The calendar (http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?action=calendar) has a visual breakdown of the events coming up if that helps any of you wanting to plan what games you would like to attend.

Hi everyone!
My name's Adonis, I just arrived in NZ about 3-4 months ago for work/study and would like to start playing airsoft.
I recently met Koltes when I visited The Armory to check it out and it was quite educating. I have played Paintball for a while but want to get into airsoft because it seems far more fun.
Anywho, I want to join ASAP and start playing.. I will print the form and pay the fee..
PS. When we buy guns from overseas using the club Armourer (after joining) do they make them semi auto?
Thanks!
Adonis
-
do they make them semi auto?
Always.
Welcome.
-
Thanks Postman,
Hey just a question, I am thinking of buying a VFC AK-105 because it's the best looking AK-105 out there so far that I've seen but I'm not the greatest fan of electric systems due to the lack of recoil that even the AEG Blowbacks provide.
Do you think it is possible to convert this later from AEG to GBB?
Thanks!
Adonis
-
hahah you got lucky and picked the only electric that can go from electric to gas blowback
this is the kit you can use http://www.ebairsoft.com/steel-made-ak74-blowback-modifiation-p-2488.html
it should fit since Dboy/Kalash AK's are VFC clones
but then again...dont get a VFC, for the money you pay a Dboy/Kalash clone is just as good
-
Yea, get the Dboys and put the extra money towards the modkit.
Don't knock the clones, they do a great job 7/10 times!
-
Ah I dunno guys, I heard the quality of the VFC is far better than any of its competitors and if that's the case then I'd rather that.
So that kit will definitely work for the VFC? If so then I'll get the VFC because it's awesome :D
I'm going to have my first airsoft game tomorrow at the Armory.. Hopefully I still have it!
Wish me luck..
-
When they say competitors they aren't referring to the chinese clones haha but if you have the money to burn then go for it! At least you'll get trades or something with a VFC.
-
i have seen and worked on a few VFC's and they have all been a steaming pile of shitpills, avoid like the plague
but hey your money to throw down the drain as you see fit
-
i have seen and worked on a few VFC's and they have all been a steaming pile of [censored]pills, avoid like the plague

Really? Redwolf Airsoft and almost everyone else I've spoken to says they're excellent guns with all steel bodies.. What don't you like about them from your experience Carbacca?
-
get a RS AK what ive seen there the nicest out there anyways this is the intro page please start another thread if want info on vfc ak's etc
and welcome

Hi everyone!
I'm from Russia and arrived to NZ few months ago. I have more than 1 year experience playing airsoft in russian team. I've own well self-tuned Marui G36C and DE GBB. Also I have camo, face and eyes protection, weesatch... I would like to join the ASA club. I'm living in Auckland Central. Is there any other russians in the club? Because my language is not so good, but I have questions. Yeah, and all my stuff in Russia as well, so I need to know how to get it here. Do I need to speak to Armorer about it?
upd: yeah... and I'm 26 y.o.
-
Welcome Versus!
PM 'Koltes' and 'Ace' they know a bit of russian i think hahah

Hi all
Just joined up after being to the Armory a couple of times. Really enjoy shooting airsoft.
I am a long time pistol shooter - over 15 years of IPSC competition and also into 3 gun. I was looking for a way to practice when I came across airsoft.
Initially I was just wanting to find somewhere that I could shoot similar IPSC stages but with airsoft guns.
I wasn't sure about the principle of shooting at other people - its something I've always steered away from.
(when did I become so politically correct - someone beat stupid out of me !!)
The guys at the Armory encouraged me to have a go, and has opened my eyes to a whole new dimension of fun.
I'm looking at airsoft as just a way of meeting new people and having fun shooting.
Although I can say I have plenty of gun handling skills. I am an absolute noob to the tactics and team play in airsoft, so really looking forward to learning from the senior players.
-
Welcome Sun,
I may have played with you last week at the Armory if you were there that night, there were a few IPSC racers there.
-
welcome fellas
-
Thanks guys, looking forward to putting names to faces and coming to games
-
Hey everyone!
I've been wanting to do paintballing/gun games for a while now and i've recently been to asgc and i think this iz more my sort of thing. I'm a total noob and have no idea how to start into these gamez and would really like to start playing! ;D A guy at asgc said that you do induction games and i'd love to try this. If anyone can help me to start into gaming, i'd really appreciate it ^_^
-
Hi all,
My friend Hamish (maybe known as 'Wraith') has suggested that I start playing Airsoft and from what I've seen, it looks pretty cool!
I'm currently in 7th form and I'm 18 years old but I really want to get to a game as soon as possible and try it out! :D
Thanks!
-
Yup I'm known as Wraith here lol. Good to see you've posted.
Also, expect some sniper questions from this guy ;)
-
If you dont know who I am then all good.......hopefully soon I can change that.
Used to play and organise the logistics behind a fair few games a couple of years ago....have a penchant for buying loads of kit and then flogging it all of a few months later.
Looking to get back into things soon......so quietly building up my kit again.......picking up a G & G GBB GR15 raider this afternoon from TA.
So big hi and am watching 'your' space.......

Welcome back Ski, I've seen your presence in the archives.

Hey everyone, my name is Rich and i currently live in Scotland, where i play Airsoft every 2nd Sunday... Myself and my family hope to emigrate to Auckland, within the next 6-9 months and i thought i had better find me some sites to play at (priorities eh? haven't even got a job yet lol)
Really looking forward to moving over here and getting involved in the Airsoft scene. Another reason i am posting here is that i'm looking for a like minded person to chat to via MSN/Similar, someone who i can turn to and ask questions about NZ life that i cant find the answers to using googlefoo... i know its a long shot, but if you have nothing better to do, i'd love to hear from you and bug you with lots of annoying questions lol jokes :) If you fancy hearing about hos much it sucks to live in the UK then PM me and we can exchange MSN addresses or whatever, i'd really appreciate it (i promise im not a naked fat man with a military fetish trying to groom you lol :D )
Anyway, look forward to exchanging Airsoft chat at the very least with you all.
Rich.

You are preaching to the choir. 5 years in London and I turned from a die hard patriot to "let's get the hell out of here". I became a resident earlier this year after two years in the country. A move I do not regret and I don't think your family will either. You will be avoiding the mirror of Scottish life in Auckland as opposed to Dunedin. I too sought out ASA on my first visit here in 2007 and with a community based system (rather than commercial that we UK citizens are used to) it is a refreshing change.

Hi all,
I'm Craig, aka ck.
I'm 25 and study physics at Auckland University (along with a few other subjects such as philosophy and psychology). I also am a DJ and event promoter with an events company and regular event.( www.shiftevents.co.nz (http://www.shiftevents.co.nz) )
Airsoft will be my second hobby after my first passion music, in which I have invested many many thousands of dollars on live production gear for a music project I am working on.
Always have been interested in the military and was a hairtrigger from joining the Air Force (BUT I DID NOT AND HAVE NOT HAD THE PLEASURE OF SERVING). I was part of the Air Training Corps where I stayed till age 18 and left as Corporal. It is there I learned to shoot, march and fly. Always loved paint ball games where I am a firm believer in maximum realism and use of tactics. Airsoft seems a natural progression and I bought my first weapon recently from the awesome guys down at ASGC.
I have a couple of friends with good GBB weapons who might be joining me on this adventure this year.
I am looking forward to getting fitter so that I can be the best I can be at this game. I'm looking forward to meeting all the people in this scene and learning from you how this game is played.
I also like long walks on the beach at sunset... haha..
See you all round soon and have some patience with this newbie please!
Cheers,
CK

It is fresh to see an airsofter with an interest in improving their fitness. ^_^ Welcome Craig.

Hey Guys
My name is Rocky and i have just got hooked on AS.
Me and my flatmate Craig have recently get into the sport and have nearly completed our load outs. I am a Uni student who studied Physics. I mostly make my money in tutoring and bar tending, which gives me quite a free lifestyle to have fun.
I have never had any formal military training but have always been interested in combat and the armed forces. I would have gone into service after i left school but i decided to go to uni and travel. I am really keen to get out and have some fun with you guys and gals.
I have been doing research on the net and watching the big games in Europe and the States, seems like an awesome hobbie you have here. I have been really impressed by the amount of commitment and realism i have seen, this is probably the main reason why i have joined ( Apart from getting into better shape ).
Just wanted to post and see who else is out there and start getting to know how its all done.
Looking forward to shooting at you

Hi, my name is Vaughan and im an alcoholic! :P
but to be straight, I have always been interested in airsoft, considered it a few years back and now I have come back with a bigger interest & a Motorbike so I can actually move about!
Before I properly dedicate myself to the sport, I would like to come out for a "1day trial" so to speak!
I am located on the shore, in Birkenhead/Chatswood.
-
"1 day trial" days are on once a month theres also a few hire guns you could hire aswell but the limited and its first in first serve

Hello fellow Kiwis!
My name is David AKA: 13CentKiller. Always used that as my FPS name so I thought it fit. Long history too!
I am brand spanking new to airsoft. I have always been interested but lack of that all important thing called money has always put me off. I am a good friend of NervousNoobie (Joel) and will be tagging along for Saturdays game! I've been studying up the rules and the required equipment so I've made sure to have all that is required :)
I need the exersize! And if I enjoy the game as much as my friends, I have a nice gun lined up ready for the taking.
Cheers guys!

I played a few games about ~18 months ago when I was a newbie (...still am) with APA, as the chaps there were a fantastic help to me.
(I hope they are still out there some where...)
I'm now back in country so to speak, and ready to play again.
My armoury has been reduced down to my original TM Aug & P226. My camo & equipment consists of only Kiwi DPM and accessories...
Though like everyone, the quantity of things that find there way to your cupboard always tend to increase, as I'm sure it will again.
(Just need to get my wife to join?)
I am in Epsom-Auckland, not as young as I used to be, but keen as mustard.
Will join ASA next week when back in town (yip, overseas again... travel sucks when you have done to much of it...)
Cheers
Grant

I hope to see you soon, Grant. It is always pleasing to hear old faces returning to the fold.

Hello every one.
Not so much as an introduction but a re introduction. I do not think I have posted here in about a year.
So any way Its story time. Started a small club up here in whangarei got 8 members 3 of which where buying there own gear and we had 2 fields. We where having semi regular games even good times.
Anyway.. Moved down to auckland so I now plan to join you lot and play with you guys.
Got a lot of projects currently in production and even more in the planning stage.
I currently own a ak47(g&g) an ak74su(cmya) a colt45 and an 18c and a still broken g36c(needs a new tappet plate and selector) plus a bunch of camo and over airsoft based items.
So yeah. I live in the cbd. Looking forward to making some new friends and having lots of fun games.
-
welcome seed, and yes i do remember your posts last year.
-
Welcome seed, will be good to have an import at a game!
-

-
Welcome to Airsoft dude.
You'll love it! ;D
-
Hi guys!
I found your site trough a searchengine. Was looking for information about NZSAS.
Why?
Well I'm from Holland, living in Austria at the time. And it seems that on our playfields and OPs are dominated by Navy Seals, US Rangers and Russian SF. And frankly it gets a little bit boring.
Then I stumbled upon the NZSAS and the gear and loadout looks pretty much the same as used by the dutch KCT (special forces).
But I can't find any detailled info on gear and hardware. The BDU's in NZ are British DPM or are they different?
Don't want to reenact the NZSAS (that would be respectless) but just get as close as possible in style.
Is there anyone who can help me with a little Intel?
Cheers,
Viper

that was a good watch.

Also BDU's in NZ are NZDPM, which looks similar to Brit DPM but are a few shades darker and slightly different pattern. Can only really see the difference if you're used to them, or have them side by side.
-
the nzsas in afghanistan wear crye gen 2 multicam without the pads, platecarrier in ranger green, and safariland holsters, use this site as reference http://www.militarymorons.com/index.php for most gear out there. and dutch dpm would be more similar to nzdpm also nzdpm use a different material to the british and dutch dpm
(http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/uu167/jaylen12/dutch.jpg)
-
Good morning,
Thanks for the information, of course the vid and the pic of Corporal Apiata are already known.
So wearing my dutch DPM comes as close as it gets to your DPM, that is good to know.
Why don't they use the inserted kneepads in the Cryes?
Hardware (am I correct here???):
- MP5
- Colt M16 / M4 evt. with Grenade Launcher M203
- Diemaco C8A1 (or C7??) with HK Grenade Launcher AG
- P226
- Minimi
- Sniper Rifle (or DM??) unknown (Artic Warfare L96 like british SAS and KCT??)
- ACOG
To your presented pics of assumable KCT.
This was a day open for public, they show every aspect of dutch Army / Airforce and Navy. In normal life those actions are made by BBE's (counterterrorist) or MARSOF's (Maritime Special Operations Forces). The primary task of KCT is international deployement the other two primarily inside Holland (yet KCT is trained to do so too). I've been with the KCT (reached VCO - Advanced Commando Training), during a parachute drop I broke both my legs and was sent home. End of career.
Thanks again for your replies.

thats a good watch, i see those 4x4, the large rubber duckies down devo all the time, watched them jump out of choppers into the harbor a few times too. they send out fliers to those close to the navy base when they do night ops.
-
who knows about the gen 2's but none of them have them in the latest pics, weapon wise who knows tbh
and yes there are similar but i prefe r the dutch version over the nz version imo

Hey everyone,
I am strictly speaking new to airsoft, having played my first real game at the armory on Sunday!
I bought the basics from a good while back when I was considering getting into the sport.
Before I make the decision to buy the expensive weaponry needed I want to come to a few games, of which I want to bring along my best friend who happens to be a girl - can girls still play for free? What is inclusive? Are there any exceptions that still need to be paid for? e.g. weapon hire?
So, as I understand it (for me at least) it would cost $10 for field fee & $20 for weapon hire.
So far I have:
- proper DPM camo
- propane adaptor
- bb's
- bb fast loader
Stuff I still need:
- safety mask/goggles (due to the ballistic requirements I would appreciate advice on where to buy a decent pair that doesn't dig into your face and rip it apart!)
- gun (I would need to hire one)
- I wish to become a paid ASA member
- boots (searching as per your advice)
*Anything I've missed out?
I understand that games are usually held fortnightly, does this still apply?
PS: Anything else that you think I need to know would be great!
Cheers,
Vaughan.

Greetings..... and welcome to the addiction that is airsoft. Field fee is $10 for guys, but girls don't pay field fees. Induction games are run once a month with the next one this Sat. These are open games and you spend half the day being introduced to the club, rules and run through a few practice games. You then join the main group for gaming in the afternoon. The club does have some googles for use, but best to put your name down in the induction game thread requesting these.
If you become a member you get access to other areas of the forums and will find that there are members games run most weekends. If you want to get more immersed there is also the NOMAD team league. \
Cheers
Bart
-
Hey mate, cheers for the response.
Due to work commitments I am unable to attend the possibility of a saturday induction.
Are inductions held purely on saturdays or do they vary?
Cheers.
-
Once every month on a Saturday dude.
And welcome! ;D
-

Ok, so the next induction after this coming one would be on the 27th November?
-

Something like that, yeah.
So maybe in a week or two they'll start organising the next one with details and dates etc.
-
you could get those mesh mask thingees? ask postman about it and dont cheap out on eyewear either spend a bit or get them from the safety shop but u can borrow the club goggles for your first game and dont expect top of the range stuff lol, comfortable non slip shoes are recomemended for your first game technically no skate shoes or nice clean $250 pair of nikes etc, memebership you can pay after your first game or 2nd. after your hooked then either pm me, koltes or asgc for guns and gear.

Hey everyone, I'm Andrew, and I've recently become interested in Airsoft. I've been lurking these forums and ASNZ forums for a while now, gathering Intel haha. I'm a minor, 16 years old, but me dad taught me gun safety when I was a kid. I know I need a firearms license for this sport, so I'm looking to get one soon, maybe even this month. So it would be much appreciated if someone could throw me a few tips about getting one, haha
Also I've heard that Airsoft eats up your money? I also read somewhere that it could be better to wait until I'm 18, or when my budget isn't below $400-$500 haha. I don't think I'd like to have an electric gun as a main gun (but renting an electric gun is fine though), I was thinking about a gas blow-back rifle, but I don't think I can afford one + sufficient magazines. So I'm thinking of getting a GBB pistol, but would this be enough for the games that ASA hold? I'm trying to determine whether it would actually be a good idea to join the club at this stage.
Anyway I think I've taken up enough space on this topic, I look forward to chatting with, and possibly even shooting you guys haha
;D
-
if carbacca can get one then im pretty sure you could too haha!, if you want to try it out then i would suggest going to the armory have a go there see if you like it.

As for getting a firearms license, there are places that help you learn... for instance there is nice old guy who teaches it periodically at the Birkenhead Leisure Centre.. you could possibly enquire there. It is very good because you also learn the basic yet essential rules of firearms & also get to use the .22 rifles on range.
Going from memory I think the guy's name was bob/ben?
If in doubt you can always ask at your local police station, they got brochures and stuff.
Starting in Airsoft depends on your budget! For around the $300 you can get a basic G&G M4 or similar.
-

The Armory sounds good but it's a bit far away since I live in east Auckland. Also, I'm more interested in field action maybe, so would it be ok for me and maybe a few mates to turn up to an open game or something? My mates are over 18 btw ;) Thanks for the info :)

Good idea, I think I may start looking around for a place like that, but if I'm not going for a real rifle, and I'm a cheap bastard, would it be alright for me to just study up the firearms code like the learner license for the drivers? I'm pretty familiar with gun safety already, like treating every firearm as loaded, locking up your guns, nobody stands in front of the shooter when he's shooting, do not rely on the safety on your gun because it "never" works, don't look down the barrel of your gun.... etc
Haha that's an electric rifle ain't it? Those look great, and they may shoot better than gas rifles, but where's the recoil and blowback action? Hehe
Thanks for the help :)
-

Mate! If you're cheap then don't even start to think about gas blowbacks! Go with electric, sometimes you can get electric blowback SEG's, of which I think you might just be able to pick up one around the $300-400 region... I think G&G do a m4 thats a blowback electric
-
Nah I was thinking about a GBB pistol, they're not too expensive for good quality I reckon. Maybe a KSC USP hehe. I could rent the guns on the day 'till I've got mega bux to spend on gunz. I dunno, SEGs don't seem like they'll do it for me you know? They got that "zeeerrrp zeerrrrrp zerrrrrp" sound... But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind after shooting one :-X
-
decent pistol costs more than a decent electric these days...
-
Good luck finding a cheap KSC USP :(
Most of all that's left are the new System7's that don't come AS cheap, i have 2x USP Compacts myself with the silencer kits. Be ready to fork out for those KSC USPs. Get a P10! USD$154+USD$30 i think...
Ask an armorer to help you out.

Still trying to get someone to get that P10 postie:p
KSC usps (and compacts) are good:)
As for the electric noise, I was certain I was going to hate it as well, but after renting one, I dont mind them. I still went gas, but I'd get an electric.

Yeah I'm prepared to fork out around 350NZD for a pistol, what I'm thinking is to get a pistol now and get a rifle later, just renting for now. I'm currently looking at:
-USP Standard System 7 - Round $145USD
-2 Extra magainzes at $42USD each, total $82
-Shipping I'm estimating... 40-50USD? Is this right?
So that's round about $360USD, not too far above my budget, but with an armorer I've heard you can get it cheaper? I need to join the club to gain access to an armorer aye?
Which one has better performance? The P-10 or the Standard?
Thanks for the heads up mate :)

Haha yeah, maybe I'll see after I shoot one. After all, they got themselves a nice range of SEGs compared to GBBRs haha

BE VERY CAREFUL
You have to import stuff through an "armourer" or similar... if you just do it yourself customs will destroy it before it reaches you!
-
Yup yup, planning on that ;D
Been lurking for a while and heard a lot about people getting their arses kicked by customs :P
Although on the ASNZ forums I did read about semi-automatic pistols actually being able to be shipped from overseas into NZ? Is this true? Just a little question outta curiosity aye.
-
if its just a pistol do it yourself. unless you feel like giving me more money hahaha
anyways you need to join the club first otherwise i'd tell you to go away
-
he is still under age
-
thats up to customs to enforce an ID check on him
if it goes through me then i will do an age check, but for what hes importing it doesnt have to come through an armourer, and so its up to customs to do an age check
-
FA licence first son
-
i missed the part where ASA armourer rules apply? so effectively we are helping/advising and abidding a minor to buy/get an R18 toy?
-
since when did we become police/customs??
all i am saying is i have no control over transactions that dont come through ME, if customs wants to give me a badge to start being the internet and forum police armourer then i would think about it, but until then what people do/order off their internet in their own capacity is none of my business.
its like saying after you get busted importing drugs "oh the internet told me i could"
i have checked with ASNZ regarding guns that are definitely semi auto only and the call is that they do not have to come through an armourer
i am in no way helping or advising, i am merely stating the policy that is already in place regarding the use of the armourer system
if i was really helping/advising him i would tell him to stop being a knobby know it all and go down to ASGC and get a JG electric for $250
-
i should just double post.... ::) I wont bother
-
thats up to customs to enforce an ID check on him
if it goes through me then i will do an age check, but for what hes importing it doesnt have to come through an armourer, and so its up to customs to do an age check
wait... I thought all imports had to go through an armourer.... so what could I import without it being destroyed or held?
-
Hong you have opened a can of worms mate :P
-
The discussion of how to get guns on this thread has ended. Any further posts added on this topic will be deleted. It is ASA policy not to discuss in the public area how to get guns.
This thread is about introducing yourself to the club. Let's stay on topic people

agreed

Of course mate, whether or not I get an airsoft gun, Firearms license is coming this year, or January next year :)
If i was really helping/advising him i would tell him to stop being a knobby know it all and go down to ASGC and get a JG electric for $250
Heh, so maybe next time I should just join the forums without knowing anything, asking for every single insignificant detail that has been previously conversed or stated, and wasting everyone's time without a single press of the search button, aye. Nah, I joined these forums with the intention to create some great experiences, not to start the whole discussion about importing guns into NZ. Asking about importing airsoft weapons was a mistake, guess curiosity killed the cat again. If I'm going to purchase an airsoft gun, it will be AFTER joining ASA and contacting the armorer. But all that comes after FAL of course.
Right. Sorry everyone for stirring up trouble eh, just was a little curious. Rest assured, FAL is coming. Maybe see you guys at H2 next year? Got no FAL or ride for the 27th... Looking forward to it
-
All good and welcome
-
Hey my names Rorie, I'm really new to Airsoft. I heard about it a while ago but never really got into it because of age restrictions. I really enjoy watching games on youtube and I would really love to start playing.
-
Thanks, for the info. I've been looking around the site soaking up all the information I can. I've known about airsoft for a few years but I'm too young. I'm probably going to go get my firearms licence sometime so yeah.
Thanks heaps.
-
As Bartonator said, all posts regarding the discussion and importation of guns will be removed and as such I have removed three posts since.
We ask that all forum users remain savvy to ASA standards and policies and not only avoid getting dragged in but also inform forum moderators and administrators of any breach of forum/club rules here. For those given permissions to moderate these forums, it is up to you to maintain standards not partake in breaches of rules.

Hi there guys and gals.
My name is Tristan and I go by the handle port22. I played my first game for ASA on the 11th December. Really enjoyed myself and joined yesterday so looking forward to meeting more of you and getting my teeth stuck into as many games as I can.

Howdy all,
Matty here.
I've got an M4A1 with acog sight, and cans in the backyard.
Had a couple games so far at the Armory, legs hurt for four days after... :-\
But looking forward to the next field game.
-
Hello Gents and Ladies!
It was my first time playing today, and good fun was had. It was nice to meet a few of you.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming events, especially looking forward to give the 'grandprize-mp5' a go.
-
Greetings, well done on the awesome score.
-
Since I pulled your number out you really have no excuse to give outdoor airsoft a try :p
-
Hi guys, reasonably new to airsoft. After following my son into the 2 CQB's operating over the last 5 months and last Saturday being my 2nd time out in the field I'm looking forward to the next game, come rain or shine ! Bring it on.
Cheers David.

hey
my names levi 29, looking at joining the club and coming to the induction weekend this coming weekend (21/5/11). i have a friend with who plays with you guys and has nothing but good things to say about the sport.
i've had no experience with airsoft so will be a complete begginer in that respect. what would i need to bring other than $$$???? and my girlfriend is interested to give it a go too.
i'd like to go the Gas Blow Back route when i purchase a rifle, as i would like to go down the mil-sim/ realism route. and would like to know which brands to avoid, heard good about viper and mixed about W-E as i've been down to asgc and seen some of the stuff on display, i've seen something i've liked but just want to be sure before i put a deposit down on the rifle.
any advice would be good as $600-$1200 is a lot to spend on a dud
cheers
levi

theres lots of reviews online and how to maintain gbb's. imo i would get an electric first as its simple less maintenance and cheap. bring moneys, food, water and some good pair of non slip shoes. dont buy anything until you have decided what role you want to do. i.e support, riflemen, sniper etc.
-
ok thanks fot that,
who do i contact to officially book a place at the induction game or who's running it.
most probably run about as a rifleman. cant wait to get out and see what its all about.

Hi, I'm Katy or 'Diadochi' as I'm named on the site.
So far, I've played one induction game and I've loved every minute of it. I was introduced to the sport by my boyfriend, David or '13CentKiller' as he is known on the website. I'm 19, I study Vet Nursing at Unitec in Auckland and have significantly enjoyed paintball, horse riding and photography as hobbies.
I'm a complete beginner to airsoft, but a willing participant and enjoy a good, fair game!
Hope to see you on the field and maybe evne strike up a chat at the re-spawn :D

Welcome Katy, nurse, handy.,
Just what the boy needed after his insect action on sat :o ;D ::)

VET nursing.
unless the guy grew a tail unexpectedly, there may not have been alot she could do.
-
Hahaha, yeah he mentioned something about wasps/hornets.
Hopefully I'm also playing this Saturday with him and if it helps Virus,
I'm also a lifeguard and know first aid for humans too.
Thanks for the warm welcome :D Hopefully see some of you Saturday.

Awsome, always good to have someone else who can patch us up.

Hey I have played a couple times at the armory and love it want to start playing airsoft more out in the bush havent got any gear yet wondering how I join to come along to this matches you guys have, and what to do if you dont have any gear for the induction matches gun, mask etc looking at buying gun soon
cheers
andy
-
You will find answers to many answers on our website front page. http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/ (http://airsoftauckland.co.nz/)
In short you don't have to join, just look out for open / induction days. You can hire a gun and borrow a mask but will need to provide your own BBs or buy them on the day. Gun = $20 BBs = $20.
I hope to see you on the field soon having a blast.
-Tank
-
On top of what tank has said, there is also a $10 field fee.
-
how do we go about joining after we had the induction day
-
simply speak to one of the committee members (you will know who we are on the day, or just ask anyone to point us out), and we will give you the form you need to fill in.
Basically, $30 bucks and you get all the benifits of being a member.
-
awesome cheers
do you know when the next match is?
can you give me some ideas for purchasing a first gun? dont want to spend to much over $400
-
there are some real good deals for 2nd hand guns in the members section...which you cant see yet because you are not a member
otherwise either of our friendly neighbourhood arms dealers from the banners up the top should sort you out
-
o yea i was going to ask if there was a page to buy and sell the membership form on the home page can i fill it out and email to who ever i need to
-
Hi all :)
Several work buddies and myself are very keen to attend one of your induction games.
When/where is the next induction game planned ?
We would need to borrow/hire equipment. I've yet to get the actual number of people that are keen (probably 2-4), but please let me know how many guns/masks would be available to hire.
I've bought an HFC desert eagle, it seems to shoot pretty straight from what I can tell, but is a handgun adequate in terms of accuracy ?
Regards
Damir
-
Howdy,
Next induction game hasnt been formally annouced (its pencilled in for the 16th of July, but this is subject to change). When its announced the thread will be in this section:
http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?board=59.0 (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?board=59.0)
Rental availability is subject to how fast you get in once the game is annouched:)
Handgun is mostly a back up weapon, I'd say there are few who run one as a primary.
-
as in brought forward right Michael ? ;)
-
I have no idea:)
-
Gidday mateys, names Rich - Bravo2913's henchman, got so used to shooting at animals for lunch so thought it'd be fun to shoot at humans for a change, currently working on govt proposals to allow airsoft guns into Niue then round up a team of local boys for a bit of an AKLD invasion to showcase our jungle guerrilla tactics.

OMG 2hipa is that you?! It's me, Rich...The other Rich :P let me know next time you in town again and maybe we can get you to a game bro!
-
Oh [censored] I forgot you'd might be up in here! Sounds like a PLAN STAN - got the airsoft started back here on the ROCK with local boys - its all sorta hush hush at the mo but the guys are frikkin' blood thirsty animals in a fight even though they're springers, first game I nearly went to hospital for concussion (9 headshots to my head!), one guy passed out from the adrenalin rush (everyone was standing round him laughing) & pretty much everyone was peppered with this funky bloody measles look (is 210 fps supposed to cut you up that bad?) - Bravo will be introducing us to "RULES" in the next few games but the locals are bayin' for more BLOOOOD, their eyes just roll back in the throes of a wargasm...maybe they shld keep airsoft banned from Niue..? See you at the LZ bro!

Hey guys
Missed last weekends game - had to work bahhh. Any idea as to when the next induction will happen??
-
20/08 :)
-
Yep! Bring your happy face! ;D
-
hi all, my name's Neil...i got into airsoft well over 20 years ago, back in the time when it was relatively new to NZ and a very limited selection of weapons available - no AEG or GBB back then! ;D
but even back then i wanted to skirmish with them, however those suggestions were mocked - i think moreso that it "wasn't the done thing" rather than real safety concerns.
anyways, went through a few springer pistols in my time (still have my old Marui Beretta, albeit with a busted trigger catch :-[ ), and a few .177 bb and slug pistols. gotta say that my old Crosman 1008 with target slugs is a nice accurate weapon, but a wee bit too aggressive for my small-ish backyard.
i seem to have fallen back in love with these guns after a friend pointed me to a Tardme link for a GBB rifle...must say i was surprised at how far the tech has progressed over the years.
yeah i'd seen a number of newer guns in toy/asian import shops in the preceding years, but they were all nasty and rarely 1:1. finally, stuff looked more serious and far less toy/fad.
so with my curiosity piqued, i am now the proud owner of an 870 shotgun and a WE G39K. great build, accurate, FUN!
my kids have really gotten into it too...so i did the stupid and bought a cheapo springer on Tardme for them...shot pretty good for what it was, but lasted a week as the slide catch on the piston has snapped off. serves me right :D
any suggestions for a simple and reliable SMG/folding-stock springer that's easy for kids (7 & 8) to cock?
hopefully i'll be able to make it out on the field for a bit of bang bang you're dead!
-
Welcome mate, when you do make it out to game, you will be pleasantly surprised and impressed with where this sport is at :)
-
Hello all
I suppose I should do an introduction lol... Not much more I can add to what I put on my profile: http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=5570.0 (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=5570.0)
A couple of people know me either because they've seen me at ASGC or because I'm seen regularly at ASGC CQB Arena. But if you don't know me feel free to come up and say hi. First game with ASA was at the 100+ people induction, but I haven't become an active member till this August. I look forward to becoming more involved in events :) And maybe sitting in on a NOMAD game or something because the MilSim aspect of airsoft is what's most appealing to me. I've played at WAR a couple of times, and I started playing airsoft all those months ago at ASGC's field games. I think that about sums everything I didn't mention in the profile...
Oh, and my motto is "when in doubt, call yourself out." Because how can you expect others to play honest if you don't play honest yourself, right?
-
Hi All,
JB here an expat Kiwi living across the ditch in sunny Queensland. Unfortunately the Australians are a bit gun shy over here and the concept of airsoft has them shaking in their boots more than the rugby world cup semi finals!
I am a bit of GBB whore so tend to like the gas taggers over the electric ones, having served in the NZDF I am no stranger to weapon maintenance so should be all good. I have been amassing a small arsenal of toys at my brothers house in Auckland and will be jumping the ditch to come and have some fun on a regular basis.
My current toy closet includes:
G39RAS
G39C
M14 EBR (with a few custom extras)
SCAR-L
Baby Hi-Capa
M92
I am still keen on getting an M4 variant too but it must be metal and gas operated, so still looking..
Looking forward to getting out there!
-
My brief time in the forces put me off weapon cleaning for life. Welcome to our little club of doomy doom. I look forward to seeing you on the field.
-Tank
-
Thanks Tank.. I do think you are really looking forward to someone new to shoot on the field though :D
I forgot to mention I also get into my video and will bring across my gopro cameras, including the 3D rig and capture some of the action
-

Hi Guys. I am keen on giving Airsoft a go. I missed this months induction game but will be at the next one. I've been looking for something fun to do under ther guise of getting some exercise, work will pay $300 towards exercise activities. Just need to find someway of justifying it as exercise to the accountant.
-
Welcome and sweet if you can get work to pay for the hobby
-
Just need to find someway of justifying it as exercise to the accountant.
Bring him/her along, and they'll soon see that running for cover while under fire is the best exercise evar.
And Welcome!

It is good to have your interest and you are not alone. I myself made the switch a decade ago when I wanted to take paintball further than the casual events like birthday parties and school outings. See you on the field soon.

Hey Everyone
My name is Matt, 25 years old. I am originally from Auckland, however whilst i am/was living down in Christchurch i was introduced to airsoft and enjoyed it so much that i started off by getting my own gbb pistol (Socom Gear M9A1 Beretta) and a week ago i purchased a decently upgraded VFC M4 Defender E Series of one of the other players down there. All in all i should say that i have probably played airsoft for about 3 - 4 months and before that i have had a good few years paintballing.
I am hopefully going to make it for the 15th of June induction day along with my gf (whom also plays on and off).
I look forward to meeting and shooting you all, (although i think im going to be the one getting shot :P)
Regards
Matt aka Dreese
-
Welcome Dreese! Be good to see you out there, and don't worry, everyone gets shot, some of us even by ourselves.
Ahem.
-
*SNIP* everyone gets shot, some of us even by ourselves. *SNIP*
Yeap that sounds like me. Haha. Good to see that i might not be the only one.
-
OMG, this site started in 2007? I thought I'd been gone for three, maybe four years. That makes it six at least.
I'm here 'cause I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to see what old faces were still around. All I recognise is Kham, Andrew and Bart (I thought Hong would still be around at least).
I played with APA for three years or so (game organiser, gun wrecker/builder/repairer, gun whore). Got sick of all the interpersonal rivalry and group fracturing with the whole APA/ASA/ASNZ/WAR thing and packed a sad when everyone else my age moved on (Sniper, Ski, Asku etc). Didn't want to take sides, it took all the fun out of it but looks like everyone's moved on now so maybe time to give it another shot.
Now I'm in Te Aroha and thinking of joining Hamilton but they seem a little random in game time so thinking of maybe heading up occasionally to see how airsoft in the new age works. Coming up to Auckland next month for a day to check out what guns you can buy over the counter these days (never should've sold everything off) so would be keen to catch up with an old face or two, swap old war stories ;D
Free beer for the first to remember my old user name.
-
hello defred from trademe.....got any more monica springers???
-
Ah Hong, should've known you'd never leave. :D
-
Hmmm im adamant I should know who this is ...
Kind of funny how you see people come and go. John now likes in Aus but checks in on the forums every now and then and keep threatening to come over for a game. Damian plays every now and then as does Phil and Rich.
-
One free beer to Andrew 8)
So who else is still around? Did Jan (Ski) ever come back?
Nick? Vid? Vegan? Muddy?
And whatever happened to Dan after the whole split thing?
So many new people. Not surprising after six years I guess.
So who's the best person to talk to about getting back in? In particular getting gear (I sold off everythig except a few GBB pistols). I keep reading all kinds of conflicting views on how the whole Arms Ammendment thing is interpreted and don't want to go muddying any waters so looking for info on the best way to go about it. Can't even figure out if I can just go buy a mag online these days.
I'm coming up to Auckland mid-July to look around places like Youngs, The Armory, Asgc etc (whole new experience actually being able to walk into a shop) and going to talk t the local plod about importing, but before then with the way things have changed I figure best to approach it all as a noob and get advice from the experts before I do anything.
-
anything semi is ok, testing at the border is random/sporadic and as usual backlogged. parts and accessories is ok. whole gearboxes and selectors are not ok
forget youngs, asgc and armory are only good if on special
-
Cheers. So what's with the permit thing?
My oldest twin is going into the Army so want to sign her up and get her some gear, get her a bit of game time before she goes (end of next year). Don't want her running around with my $500 WA Faceoff 1911 so need to get her GBB and a long arm and others are saying I need to get a permit for the GBB. WGC shop is telling me they don't ship to NZ and I have to wait for the local plod who deals with that stuff to be around. So you can see why I'm trying to find someone who can give me a straight answer. If somewhere like ASGC costs more but means I can just alk in and walk out no problems then so be it.
Is ehobby reliable?
I'm so over sewing machines. I started with gas so I'm going back to gas. Tossing up between the SRC and WE AKS74U. S/AEGs I can do in my sleep, the new GBB rifles are all new to me. Anything I should look out for or stay away from?
BTW, if you're still going after six years what's your collection look like these days, it was bad enough back then.
-
Hi, Im Dmitry, I've played airsoft for about half a year now, got introduced to it by a friend in Christchurch, hopefully I will be attending the game on 15th of June, so Il see you all there!
-
permit system is NOT in place, its the old system until we are notified otherwise. i understand that overseas retailers are jumpy due to risk of seizure because of kiddies spreading rumours on facebook. if you can wait, wait. or buy local despite prices is probably the safest
WE AK74 or G39 is probably the best bang for buck
i am on like 33 guns now
-
WEAK74 GBB is a great buy! although you will have to spend a bit more on the reinforced parts but still as Hong says great bang for ya buck (at least the 1st 12 hundy bbs) :)
-
Hi Dmitry, welcome to ASA!
@Ned, I've also heard good things about the src gbb ak. www.gasguns.info (http://www.gasguns.info) is a great resource for gbb info.
-
Thanks guys.
One more question, are the GBB rifle mags brand specific or are they like AEG mags and (supposedly) all work in each other?
-
anything other than m4 - brand specific, only use mags from same manufacturer
m4:
WE M4 use WE m4 mags ONLY
Kingarm M4 use KingArm M4 Mags ONLY
VFC M4 use VFC M4 Mags only
WA, G&P, Inokatsu, Viper, AGM can IN THEORY interchange mags, but bad tolerances and repeated copying and cloning means tolerances are all over the place
-

You are Russian, obviously? :)

Hi all,
I've been playing airsoft for a couple of years, with CTA in Wellington and PAC in Palmerston North. I moved to Auckland earlier this year and am keen for some more pew pew pew. I prefer CQB but bush is just as fun. Sometimes I like to get all tactical and play seriously but other times I just like to shoot people. I love the schneaky schneaky style, but pretty flexible. And I only rock the bullpups.
I'll lurk these forums some more until a game comes up I can play (I take it the member's game this weekend would be off limits?)
Cheers
-
Hi and welcome!
ASA dont really run much cqb games anymore. We're all bushmen.
But we do have 2 arenas up here. I also DS at ASGC in glendene on wednesdays. Hendrix is the man for the Armory on Northshore.
Im running the game this weekend, so I can invite you if you reeeeeally want to come.
-
Hi everybody ;D Savage here, just joined about 3 minutes ago

Welcome iBacon & Savage!
-
Hi all,
Complete newby to airsoft, except for the occasional stag do ;) really like the look of the sport and could see myself getting right into it. Especially the Bushman encounters.
Is there anyway I could be introduced or observe an upcoming game before getting into it further?
Cheers!

You certainly can. We publish our up coming games in the front page (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php), calendar (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?action=calendar) and forum thread (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?board=59.0). The induction games are the ones open to the public. You are most welcome to observe and walk around during the games free of charge. We will also provide you with a full face mask free of charge but I advise you bring $15 for the field fee and $20 for a rental gun as you may well change your mind and want to get stuck in.
In the forum thread you will find more info on where to go and when and what to bring.
Just let us know when you are coming so we can be sure to have extra kit to provide you with.

Names Christian, Have gear, CQB Assault rifle and High kappa pistol ( which I can't seem to find a holster for, but am on the look out) interested in joining the club and getting patched up like a real OP nigga, and with this sport it seems to be clear you need like minded people to get the ball moving.
Seems im not able to view events, probly because I have to find the Treasurer and preform fellatio as I'm sorta broke atm as have just had a baby ( well not me my partner) but if your that stupid and needed that caption then well, please don't be on my team lol.jkin. Sooo, and if you have looked up or know what fellatio is then no I'm not really going to do it just need to be alittle more jew with my cash. And please don't take that the wrong way if your jew please...
Well yea, send me your naked pics and [censored]. Or if someone could just send me an email or pm with events and if Im able to attend or not would be mint,
Cheers

You are looking for Tuparakura road on the right, it leads into a new sub-division called Tupare estate (or something like that).
It has a nice stone wall with gold letterings (something that looks more like it belongs in howick or dannemora).
There are not yet any houses there but the road is very nice. drive all the way to the end of the road, and take the long paved driveway at the end of the turnaround area at the end.
The field is just beyond the gate.
So search for Tuparekura Road on wises and you'll be right.
Google Maps position of final destination.
Parking
Once there do not park along the grass verges between the small stone pillars and the gate to the field 350m beyond them. Either park on the asphalt road (ending in the circular area) or actually inside the field playing area on the grass field.
Just pass the gate. Nice orderly fashion please :)
If you park on the grass verge we will make you move so please save us the time and effort and avoid this area. If you are unsure then ask someone when you arrive.

Hi, my names Simon, yesterdays induction was a blast, had a great time. Went and bought myself a rifle today, a full metal ICS SIG 551 SWAT from ASGC, went all out and bought a rail, a holo sight, a sling and two batteries, just in case. The gun cronoed at 410 fps, so I might find myself getting a pistol one of these days, heh.
Can't wait for the next one to test it out.
-
Simon,
It was a real pleasure to have you attend yesterdays induction and I am certainly pleased that you enjoyed yourself.
I dropped in to ASGC today as well and they told me all the players I gave airsoft advice to yesterday dropped in to either sort their gear out or in your case get a great new rifle.
So pleased you took my advise you won't easily be disappointed with your purchase.
Before you decide to purchase more, play some more and choose equipment to suit your play style.(as well as check out other peoples gear,I have a vast collection I can show you if you like).
If you haven't been granted full forum access yet stay in touch with me and I will co-ordinate to ensure you can enjoy all the gaming on offer.
Next weekend there will be a game many ASA members will attend on Sunday at Waiuku's WAR field, if you are interested I can either arrange to carpool with you or give details for you to attend on your own steam :)
-
Greeting from Poland folks. I've got question - is that the biggest airsoft forum out here in NZ? Something like our wmasg.pl?
-
Greetings Filq. The largest airsoft forum is www.asnz.co.nz (http://www.asnz.co.nz) - but is more like a federation for all of NZ airsoft clubs.
In terms of club, ASA is the largest club in the country :)

Hello. I'm an australian looking to go to NZ to have a go at airsoft. i have wanted to play for many years, and now I can finally do it..... anyone have any advice for a noob?
-
look at the game section for an open/induction game, introduce yourself, get yourself there (or carpool, we're pretty ok with it), book a rental gun if you need, or buy one at ASGC/armory, dont take your goggles off, dont [censored] and moan, call your hits, have fun.
thats pretty much it, depends on what you are aiming for with guns and gear there will be more things we can tell you
-
. . . . . . Guess who . . . .

Hi, I'm Hayden.
I played Air-soft for over 3 years in the Manawatu, but this was 15 years ago.
My weapons are very old and worn/broken, who should i talk to re: repair/rebuild gearbox Marui MP5?
I think I have all the spare parts as my gun was customized in Japan after a day 1 failure.
Also some Gas pistols that don't seem to be holding gas very well anymore
I have a few friends that are keen to come and play as they have seen my guns over the years and are always curious.
Also my sister in-law is very keen to learn how to shoot, and wants to start with air-soft, so she'd definitely be coming.
Basically I just need to find who to talk to to get my gear compliant and ready to go.
Thanks..

Hi, I am wanting to have a game on Saturday 22nd, but no one is picking up @ 09 416 4994 West Harbour location. Was hoping to have a game with 10-12 people for a cousin's Stag, and the Armory on the North shore is fully booked for Saturday. Does anybody know how to get a hold of those guys at West Harbour, please? Thanks
-
Hi Sasrio,
We have an induction game scheduled for the 22nd, which is open for anyone to attend.
This field is in the Parakai area.
As you mentioned the Armory, were you wanting CQB specifically?
All our fields are outdoor, open bush environments.
Otherwise you could also try ASGC's CQB in Glendene.
Regarding that phone number, it really should be removed from our business cards...
-
22nd of March right
-
Bah. I meant 22nd march.
Nothing happening this weekend (22nd feb)
-
The number cited hasn't been on any cards ordered in the last 2 years, there was a box floating around of the older style so that's probably where its come from.
-
Hi guys, total newbie here just working out if I need another hobby :)

Hi
I'm mark from Philippines, I am also a Professional Airsofter like you guys. I've been playing airsoft since 2001 here in Iloilo City Philippines. I joined here because my uncle and cousins in Palmerston North , always talk many good things about the Airsoft in your country. And I am also planning to work in new zealand and hope to know new friends before i get there. And I am also a Airsoft Gunsmith or Armorer here in Philippines for 9 years, and have been developing parts... maybe we can share Technical Ideas about our common sport. thanks you guys..god bless

Hi Mark, welcome to ASA!
When are you coming to NZ?
Not so sure about when im going to NZ....but i'm quiet excited..hope it going to be so soon..hehehe...my uncle told me, you guy are playing on semi-automatic? I want to share some on our videos herein philippines but i don't know were....I don't want to be OT by the Admin..hehehe

As of December last year we're allowed auto:)
-Just don't try and bring any of your guns into the country when you come without contacting police first, you'll need an import permit (and be a member of a club).
I'm sure people will be happy to see a link to your channel or something:)

Hi There. Total newbie here. I've played paintball for a little while but am looking for a new hobby. I've been reading up on Airsoft and the Auckland club. I've checked out the FB page and liked the photo's/video's on there.
I see there's an open game coming up which I'd like to try and attend - depends on whether I have that weekend free. I already have camo pants/shirt and molle vest so I guess I'm part way there.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Hi everyone,
My names Jarred and I've been dabbling with the idea of playing airsoft for a few months. Finally decided to do something about it. Trying to con a few mates into giving it a go as well.
Was figuring I'd pop along to the induction game on the 16/08 if it's on and I'm welcome. Is there anything special I need to do with regards to payment etc? Wanted to play a few games before I bite the bullet and buy gear/register.
-
Welcome Jarred
Have a look at this link - it has information which may help in answering some of your questions :
http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?page=induction (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?page=induction)
Best thing for payment is to bring Cash but check with DS running the game - Chibt
Cost/Prices:
$15 for Non ASA Members.
$20 for rental gun
$20 for bag of bb's
There should be some masks for new players to use
The link below is for the next induction on the 16/08 and is an Open Event so anyone can come along.

Hi Apple,
Thanks very much. Will have a read when I'm home. I've fired him a PM so will wait for a response. Is there a guide you'd recommend anywhere as to what to look for in an Airsoft gun? Would like to read up so I can buy if/when I'm ready. Just getting a lot of conflicting info from the internets
-
try this
https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1O0JcqcWZoALiYIdzXpphdoNHH1VFIeMpRHjatU9mBgo
as usual grain of salt applies, use your common sense because everyone is allowed/entitled to say what they think on the internet. come to the game and make up your mind, and number 1 rule is you get what you pay for
-
Awesome link, thanks for that. What are the open nights at Armoury like if I head up one night after work? I think I'd prefer open field than CQB but keen to do both.
-
As a fairly recent new player (started attending games around Feb/March) I have tried both Outdoor and some games at the Armory. After playing outdoor with the ASA I really didn't feel that the Armory games had the same level of running standards from the Organisers; it didn't feel as fluid or receptive to getting new players briefed and ready, the hire guns (at the time, may well be better now) were also very unreliable (probably due to the huge amount of use they must get).
Whilst you may need to travel further for the outdoor games, you definitely get value for money (10.00am - 3pm + is a good session), the organisation is always of high standard and I have found many of the seasoned players will generally help new people get into it.
I myself still haven't purchased a primary weapon, and choose to get my Camo's, and secondary first and try out different hire guns each induction or game and see what i liked/didnt.
As well as talking to different players at the fields for information about them for when I did come to purchase my primary.
-
Thanks for that response Psycho. I've been reading up on guns so I have some idea of what to look out for on the day. Planning on buying a mask/goggles/gloves pretty early. Just can't decide on whether to go lower half mask/goggles or a one piece. Definitely a fan of Milsim so likely to go split and deal with fogging/unfogging as it unfolds...

Hey Snapfrozen
For goggles - I recommend either Guarders or ESS, really good for airsoft. Once you get them, CatCrap is your best solution for antifog, get it of ebay, works like a treat.
Look forward to seeing you on the field :)

I went half mask and googles at least for now. The mesh half face mask seems to fit pretty well and has good ventilation. I just got a pair of googles that come with interchangeable lenses that are really study and don't tend to fog up much at all unless I stop moving after being on the go for a good period of time.
-
Cheers guys.
Been having a look at kiwi disposals, armory and asgc. Anywhere I can get reasonable goggles/lower mask otherwise? Really wanting a multicam pattern but looking like USA might be my best option.

Budgie here,
Played a season in Hong Kong and two in Japan (ten years apart). Wrong side of forty now but willing to give it a go when I get back to AKL.

We look forward to seeing you on the field. There are plenty of older players so you will not be alone.

Hi all,
My name is Iain but you can just call me Pigufleisch or Pigu.
Recently my friends and I purchased some Airsoft gear because we enjoyed paintball but preferred the milsim nature of airsoft aesthetically.
I'm really keen to have a game because I haven't actually had one yet. I'm not sure how to figure out the details of when the next Induction game is but I'll try to come along!
-
Hey, and welcome Pigu!
The next induction game on the calendar is on the 20 September 2014 (Saturday)
A new forum thread for the Induction game will be posted closer to the date.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Gents,
Names Apollo, I moved to Auckland from Sydney and got frustrated with trying to import my guns from Australia. So i decided to have a look into Airsoft. Watched some youtube, played some Black Ops 3, then went to ASGC and bought a GP M4 yesterday ( with permission from the wife).
Looking forward to getting some guidance, making some mates, and getting shot in the teeth.
Cheers.
-
Hi Apollo
Our next Induction game is 20th August, our game schedule can be found here:
http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=7620.0 (http://www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=7620.0)
Come down and give it a whirl and say hi.
-
Sounds good mate.
Little concern.
The chrono was showing 426fps on the rifle yesterday.
I know im meant to change the spring.
Any idea who and/or how i can do this?
-
Dont worry about the fps, fire your gun a bit and eventually the spring will settle and youll come in under 420fps. Whatever you do dont let asgc techs work on it.
-
Hiya,
My name is Isaac but you can call me Husky. I used to be a member of Airsoft Hawkes Bay until I moved up to Auckland early this year, haven't had the time to play until now so am looking to get back into the sport.
I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome to the club Isaac. Hopefully see you on the field soon :)

Ditto, good to see ya here ^^

hello, I'm Ari
I'm fairly new to airsoft and haven't got a gun yet, but am quite interested and hope to start playing soon!
what would be the best pistol under $100 that is reliable and feels nice to use?
-
there isnt any decent pistols under $100. you will need at least $250

I'm Postman, but annoying people call me Postie.

Those I met on the open/induction game November 18th used my actual name but prefer Kappi, hope to meet more of you guys & gals.
