Those are quite interesting.  I like adding the RP elements:)

This is a neat vid I found a while ago, swedish game.
Hearts & Minds 3

"you get hit where you get hit. Hit in the arm, you can no longer use the arm but you can still move. Shot in the plate carrier with plates in it, you go down for 30 seconds (helmet is just the same) and this works once. You can "heal" yourself by setting a CAT or bandage to get a longer bleed time. You still need a CASEVAC but you'll not die (golden hour)."  People cry out and fall when they are hit.

There are also benefits to people generally being multilingual, the SF speak english, and "Swedish was Dari and Danish was Farsi (could be the other way around?)"

It is something I had not thought about much, or more specifically, I have never considered the comparison between airsoft and LARP. I have to agree that mil-sim is LARP.
I think many may disagree but I suspect that is mainly because they have a complex about being associated with a group of people that they have not deliberately joined and may have a public profile that they don't want to be associated with. Insecurities aside, we play pretend soldiers and simulate real world events and conflict.
