WE M4 CQB Problem

WE M4 CQB Problem
« on: January 13, 2015, 02:28:15 PM »
So I'm new to airsoft right but I bought myself a we m4 cqb gbbr second hand and I go to take it apart with the take down pins, but the upper and lower wont split. After fiddling for a while I determined that for some reason the bolt carrier was sitting to far back and subsequently not allowing the buffer tube end of the receiver to split. if anyone has any advice could I please have it?

Thanks

Btw I don't know how to post pics so here are some links.

take the buffer tube off and it should release. it happened to mine years ago i forgot why but it was something stupid i did. the bolt over traveled and is latched on somewhere. but if you take the buffer tube off you can take the tension off and you can see what happened

yea i thought that might work as well but i tried and it will only come as far as the little catch on the top will let it.

Does using the forward assist work at all?

Mine used to get stuck all the way in the buffer tube but not slightly back like yours.

Does the gun fire and cycle properly?

managed to find the actual problem, turns out one of the teeth on the front of the nuzzle was bent and causing it to jam. So long story short i got the bolt out and now need a new nozzle, do any places sell the metal version ive seen on youtube? also turns out my safety isn't working properly(the gun isn't safe :p) any fixes for that?

Hi if your safety doesn't work, it could be something in the trigger pack.
Is it a disconnecting type safety or a lock type safety?

I suggest pulling out the trigger pack and check if anything was snapped in half or something... and just order the steel counterpart
could be the selector or selector plate or even just something loose.

I have included two manuals here, not sure which version rifle yours is.

http://manual.weairsoft.com/GBB-Rifle/M4-M16A3-CQBR-GBBR.pdf

buy the CNC steel counterpart and not the original ZINC parts from WE... the steel parts will last you very much longer. It's worth every $$$
you can try ASGC locally or just order it from ehobbyasia, redwolfairsoft, WGCshop or similar airsoft sites.

If your rifle is the discontinued version, I do suggest NOT spending too much on it. Parts will be scarce and expensive. In anycase, GBBR upgrades are bloody expensive and inconsistent... you gotta test it out extensively after every upgrade. The mags will also need to be upgraded and reinforced, specifically the release valve, intake valves, rubber seals, and you might need to work on the inner rubber seals when it starts leaking from the bottom...
