Welcome inquisitive soul.

This club is run and operated by it's members, volunteers who give up their time for the greater good, and who usually don't receive any thanks for doing so.

The committee is a group of up to seven such unfortunate souls;

The President, the Secretary and the holy ghost Treasurer, plus up to four regular committee members.

Their roles;

Maintain the website (ie updating content, information, posting events)
Running events when there is no volunteers
Maintaining the membership database (ie refreshing it every year, promoting players to sign up)
Running the admin at games (The sign in process, chronoing guns, paying the land owner)
Helping DSes run their games (ie providing info, and assistance)
Maintaining the club bank account (ie providing monthly statements, paying the landowner, paying for props)
Updating game rules
Running the Annual General Meetings
Writing down the minutes for meetngs
Acting as liaison between ASA and the nation body for our sport, ASNZ
Trying not to cry when there's only three people doing all this [censored]

So, the next time you complain about having to fill out your membership every year, and about how games could be run more smoothly, remember, constructive criticism, or we'll make you do it.

Addition: There's also stuff they need to do to keep us as an incorporated society. At the very least we must upload financial statements of each year regardless if we 'struck off that year cause the previous committee didn't keep records' onto the societies.govt page. Since knowledge of this is dwindling, it won't be long before the get struck off the register. I give a year tops.
