Quick Intro

The Puxing-777 Radio Unit is one of the most popular, or at least well used, personal radios used by airsoft players in NZ.
They are compact, easily fits into a standard M4 magazine pouch.
They are also relatively inexpensive, less than $80.

The Puxing-777 comes in several different frequency ranges.
The PRS, or Personal Radio Service, frequency range for licence-free use in New Zealand is from 476.425Mhz to 477.400Mhz.
So the Puxing777 model which covers 465-520Mhz range is ideal.

First Time Use

The dial on the left is [VOL/POWER].
Rotating the dial clockwise will first power the radio on, then gradually increase the volume.
Rotating counter-clockwise, reduces the volume.
All the way counter-clockwise will power the radio off.

The dial in the middle is [ENCODER DIAL].
This rotates freely clockwise and counter-clockwise, with a small 'click' between each position.
When in Channel Mode or Frequency Mode, it is used to change change the active channel on the radio unit.
When in SELF or programming mode, it is used to select options available in that menu.

Puxing-777 have three selectable functions:
Frequency Mode - You can dial in any frequency between 465-520mhz.
Channel Mode - You can only use the programmed channels.
Self - The self programming mode, which we will use to edit our 40 PRS channels.

When you power on your radio, the display will show something like "CH-001", or "476.425".
