Getting Started in Auckland

Who / When / Where?
You are spoilt for choice here in Auckland.
Airsoft Auckland (ASA), every 1st and 3rd Saturday in Helensville. 
The Armoury, Battle strike sessions every Sunday in Riverhead 
West coast Airsoft Rangers (WAR), Every Sunday in Waiuku. 
Arena 149 (ASGC), alternating Sat/Sun in Kingseat. 
There are a few more private groups that are invitation only.

Outside of Auckland is still pretty good.
There are now clubs in most regions. If not start one up.

Costs
Cost depends on having your own gear or not. Being a member or guest.
ASA, $10-40. Membership is $30 annually.
The Armoury, $15-50. Membership is $200 lifetime.
WAR, $25-50. Membership is $30 annually.
ASGC, $35-75 (No membership discount currently 07-2020). Membership is $30 annually. 

Equipment
All the organisations listed have loan equipment available for you to try.
You definitely want to try it out before spending up large on your own gear.

The first piece of equipment you need to buy is eye/face protection!!
Get something that works for you.
Wearing safety glasses is acceptable at most location, some require full face cover.
If you choose to wear only glasses, you have to accept the risk of lower face teeth/damage.

We do not recommend new players buy second hand guns. Second hand guns are often sold because they are becoming worn out or have an issue. These are best left for veteran Airsoft players to buy as they will have the experience, tools and parts to make any repairs.
